Zero Parades: How To Revive & Recruit Pseudopod

As you might have gathered from the opening moments of Zero Parades, your buddy Pseudopod isn’t exactly fit for the job at hand. It’s obviously partly because they aren’t wearing pants, but also because they are completely catatonic, rendering them basically, a vegetable.

But, you may be shocked to find that you can actually recruit them as a member of your party for the end game, provided you go to extreme lengths to revive the supposed sock merchant.

It’s a pretty long-winded quest, and one that will have you playing hide-and-seek with your double at some point. However, we know all their hiding places, and aim to make this process as smooth as possible for you.

    Getting The Luzian Imprinting Device

Before you go wasting your time trying to get your double to come to their senses, you should know that you won’t be able to bring them back to life until you have progressed the story a fair bit. You’ll be able to find out what happened to Pseudopod through investigating clues surrounding the strange Einzeltone XR disc found in the 24-Hour Foto Shop.

Plus, you’ll also be able to discern that Pseudopod is completely unresponsive to treatment of any kind if you take up the help of the manic physican, Dr Gonza.

But, you won’t be able to begin the process of recruiting Pseudopod until you obtain the ‘mega violator’. A Luzian Imprinting Device that can only be obtained by questioning the prisoner in the Secret Jail and confirming that Yana has this item on her person.

You’ll then need to convince her to give you this device, and just like that, you have the ability to take a comatose subject and effectively clone yourself, just as Tempo did with Yana.

    Where To Find Luzian Batteries

Getting the machine is one thing, but making it work is another. As the machine is out of juice, and only Luzian batteries will work to power this device. Which effectively leaves you with two options.

One option to acquire these batteries is by visiting the Bazaar during the day and speaking to the two kids watching TV. You’ll need to talk to them about their favorite show, 66 Wolves. After doing so, you’ll be able to ask about the male child’s flashing sword toy, and you will be given the option of a Poetics check to ‘borrow’ his toy. This flashing sword is one way to obtain the batteries you need.

Or alternatively, you can head to the Pet Store and talk to the King of Trade. This is found in the area up the stairs and left of Tempo’s office. You’ll need to find something that the strange little monkey is willing to trade. Which can be a Raincoat, some Cigarettes, a Pink Mini Skirt, or a Monkey Plushie, just to offer some options for you.

However, the most cost-effective option is the Monkey Plushie, which can be bought from Malen in the Bazaar for five Sol.

    Waking Up Pseudopod

With the batteries in hand, you’ll want to return to the 24-Hour Foto Shop, and speak to the comatose Pseudopod to begin this ritual.

The process is relatively straightforward, but you’ll need to pass some checks to make sure the process runs smooth.

You either have the option to manually imprint on Pseudopod, which is an X check that allows you to keep all of your thoughts and memories intact.

Or, alternatively, you can choose to give up one of your thoughts that are closely tied to The Whole Sick Crew. Options like Cold Storage and Career Opportunities were present when I went through this process.

Whatever you choose, when you commit to this act, a white light will shine, and when you come to, Pseudopod will be running out the door, much to the shock of Constanz. You’ll need to head out and find your rogue agent.

This begins your big game of hide-and-seek with your double. He could be anywhere in the world, but the easiest way to find them is to assume they are you at the beginning of your assignment.

First, head to the docks, and you’ll find them speaking to The Boatman. Where you’ll need to convince them that they are not a sock trader, nor are they you. This will require either a successful Shadowplay or a successful Personalism check, so plan your build accordingly before the conversation. But before you can get into it properly, they will run away again.

Their next stop is back at the 24-Hour Foto Shop, where they will be upstairs talking to your Opera representative, Melitta.

You can use the downstairs intercom to try and talk them around, but no matter what you do here, they will leap out the window and make another break for it. You will have a chance at a pretty tricky red check to assure Melitta that you have everything under control. But chances are that Melitta will tell you to ‘deal with them’. Which means exactly what you think it means.

You’ll find them in their final spot, staring at the huge advertisement for Ultra Violetta on the bridge leading to the Housing Campaign, and you’ll have a choice. You can either pass an Instincts check to ‘shut them up’. Or you can pass a Personalism check if you go through more sympathetic dialogue options and talk them off a ledge.

The former will lead to you to kicking them in the head, and basically rendering them a compliant vegetable once again. Albeit with motor functions.

If you choose the latter, Pseudopod will settle down, agree to help you with your assignment, and head to the Fogged Mirror, where your crew will assemble. Either way. Congrats, you successfully reanimated and recruited a corpse.
