So, someone broke the solar system. It was kind of rude of them to do that, but there’s space combat now so that’s nice.
Star Wrath is the latest title announced by War Thunder’s publisher, Gaijin Network LTD. It’s being developed by Targem Games, the same minds behind another vehicle-combat game: Crossout.
Star Wrath bills itself as an extraction shooter, though most of those games see you playing as a guy with a gun. Such guys (and non-guys) are available in the game, but if you’re a Star Wrath player, that’s probably not why you’re there.
Ship-to-ship space combat is the main thing you’ll be doing, in that Star-Wars-esque ‘planes in space’ style that makes for such good gameplay.

Star Wrath features “multiplayer space extraction-action”, according to its Steam store page description. You’ll “design your own ship, fight other space raiders for resources in PvP and PvE session battles and extract the loot you’ve collected from the map.”
This focus on vehicle combat isn’t just a gameplay thing – you’ll need to build and fly a ship unique to you. You get to build your ship, and the way you build it will effect how other players shoot it down.
“Assemble your ship from various modules to suit your play style or improve preset blueprints as needed,” the description says. “Every part of your ship can be damaged or destroyed. The hull takes the first hits, but once the core is exposed, survival becomes a real challenge.” It continues, clarifying: “The mass of your ship, engine types, and modular configurations impact inertia, speed, and maneuverability. Balance firepower, mobility, and armor to suit your combat style.”

This is further explained on the game’s website where they describe the process as follows:
“The ship’s elements in Star Wrath can be damaged or completely shot off or destroyed in collisions. This makes the ship’s configuration a crucial factor: the loss of a single block can turn the tide of battle.”
Star Wrath currently lacks a proper launch date, though it’s currently penciled in for a release sometime this year.
Star Wrath Closed Beta Test Is Available For Curious Pilots

If you have an existing account with Gaijin entertainment, or are willing to make one, you can actually sign up to play Star Wrath early. You’ll have to “fill a short form” out first, and maybe you’ll get an invite after that.
“If you have applied for the testing of the Project Void Space combat system in the past, then you already have access to the Star Wrath CBT, so make sure to check your email inbox!” You can also pay money for a bundle that grants instant access to the closed beta.
The reason for the game’s non-specific release date is, apparently, a direct result of this beta testing program. The game’s website has an FAQ, where they say of the game’s eventual launch: “The exact date depends on the results of the testing, but we are currently planning to release the game in 2026.”
It’s possible that the game could release soon if the players all give a thumbs-up, but if there are issues, the devs would much rather take the time to iron out any issues, even if that means delaying the game.
