Halloween is right around the corner, and Fortnite is amping up the spooky vibes with Fortnitemares in Chapter 6 Season 4. With the new Halloween event comes new frights and terrors, along with new bosses on the map. One of these bosses is the iconic Slasher of Crystal Lake, Jason Voorhees. Don’t be intimidated by his hockey mask, because defeating him rewards you with a brand new Mythic weapon. Here’s how you can easily locate and defeat Jason in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4.
Jason Voorhees’ Location in Fortnite
True to his lore with the Crystal Lake, Jason spawns near the lake at the Creepy Camps, located in the northwest part of the map. On approaching the location, a skull icon will be marked on your map, indicating where Jason will spawn. Once you’ve reached the skull icon, wait for a few seconds, and you’ll notice your surroundings becoming foggy.
After you get close enough, Jason will come out of the lake, and the boss fight will begin. This can happen even if you’re on a squad. You only require one member of your team to get close to the skull marker to begin the boss fight with Jason, and trust, you might need a full squad to take Jason down.
Defeating Jason Voorhees
To defeat Jason Voorhees, you need to keep your distance and aim at his head to deal headshot damage and deplete his large health bar in the game. Jason’s health pool is massive, compared to the other mini-bosses on the island right now, and it will take time to defeat him. Gear up and loot what you can before you head to the lakes near Creepy Camps to take on Jason on his own turf.
He doesn’t have a shield bar, only a large health bar, and you need to constantly aim for his head and shoot him to defeat him. You must keep your distance from him, since he carries a Machete, and if you get too close, he will deal massive damage with his signature slashing weapon. The best course of action would be to bring your squad, keep your distance, and shoot at his head. The Undead Slasher will be dead in no time.
Once you’ve defeated him, he’ll drop the High Stakes’ Mythic Shotgun as a reward. Of course, since it’s a battle royale game, you need to watch out for other players who want to take down Jason as well.
