It’s time for the ID showcase trailer, focusing this time on the recently teased Cinq East Hong Lu. Not only did we get a bit more info on Hong Lu’s newest ID, but the newest incoming Announcer was revealed, and we got the visuals for our freshest Reflectrial.
I’ll be showing you all the new content, exploring everything we can expect this Wednesday! Let’s get straight to it!
Cinq East Hong Lu In Action

Cinq East Hong Lu took up the majority of the trailer, dropping a few hints on how he might play without giving us anything concrete. Firstly, it seemed like he has enhanced versions of each of his Skills, building up to some seriously stylish combos.
The entire time, he maintained the teal glow of the Cinq East’s Jade bracelets, the weapons that allow them to summon fire from their attacks. Clearly, he’ll maintain Cinq East Don’s signature mix of Burn and Poise, battering down enemies with a barrage of blows.
We didn’t see his Defensive Skill, but I’m expecting an Evade purely based on vibes and Don’s established trends. Evades are by far the strongest Defensive Skills on offer, and giving it to Cinq East Hong Lu would greatly empower him in all kinds of content.
We’ll have to wait for an actual kit explanation on Monday the 17th, allowing us a bit more critcial analysis and exact team building. For now, look to build up some Hong Lu shards if you run Burn; otherwise, wait until his full kit reveal to give him the proper time of day.
Ring Duo Announcer Drop

We knew we’d be getting one more announcer before the new update grants us a resource to select from a series of announcers for free, and we’ve finally gotten them revealed: Callisto and Albina! The House of Spiders Ring Duo will be added to the drops on Cinq East Hong Lu’s banner, and will be added to the general pool afterwards.
The Ring Duo is a very fun mix of calculated artistic critique and an endless desire for mastery. The previous announcers have given us extra little lore tidbits for the characters involved, and Callisto himself is incredibly mysterious, so I’m personally hoping for a bit more exploration of his artistic movement within the Ring, Anatomization.
Albina meanwhile is, like all the apprentices, a victim desperate for some kind of parental guidance, taken in by a monster desperate to relive their glory years. Albina has put her all into her art, isolating herself and literally sacrificing her body for the perfect artistic weapon. She adores Fascia, her personal masterpiece. Learning more about her is my biggest hope for this announcer set, even if she can’t quite remember much.
Lei Heng Reflectrial on the Horizon

Finally, another endgame battle is well on its way, starring everyone’s favorite punching bag, Lei Heng! While his mechanics are yet to be revealed, I’m hoping for a variant of the battle without the Morositas Durante effect active.
Lei Heng was a monster when we first met him, but the Sinners have come a decent way since then, at least mechanically. Getting to fight Lei Heng proper is my biggest expectation, and the release of Cinq East Hong Lu right as his battle drops leads me to believe Burn and Poise may be buffed for the battle.
As a reward for this fight, on top of Extraction Tickets and XP tools, we’ll be able to earn another free announcer picker! Mostly a fun distraction to hold us over until the newest Canto releases in mid-September. Time to prep your best teams, ladies and gents, with only half a week away!
