Far Far West – All 3 Mysterious Train Wreck Locations

As you start your journey into the Far Far West, you’ll notice some regions mention the presence of a mysterious Train wreck. These Train wrecks refer to the remains of the Papa Marquette 1225, a mystical train that Trackman is in the process of attempting to fix.

If you’re willing to help, you can snag some extra gold, as well as a whole new region location in the Far, Far North. Let’s go over where you can find each train wreck, step by step!

Train Wreck 1 – The Far West

Our very first region has our first train, buried in the northeastern corner of the map. Head over the hill crested by black smoke, to find Trackman working on the wreckage. He’ll task you with acquiring information from the train’s black box, and hands you a tracker.

From here, you’ll need to position yourself in the glowing green circle that appears. Every 15 seconds or so the circle will warp to somewhere near the wreck, requiring you to follow it. While holding the black box tracker, you won’t be able to do anything to defend yourself other than cast

Hunting for the train wrecks on lower difficulties is recommended because of this. After you make about 20% progress, a horde will be sent after you. You can’t lose progress on the tracker, so drop it to fire off some shots with your weapons in Far Far West if you really need to fight off the Cryptids.

Once the progress bar is full, you’ve completed the first step. Make sure to kill the mission’s boss to save your progress, and head over to the Canyon for the second!

Train Wreck 2 – The Canyon

Bouncing down to the southwestern corner of the Canyon, our second train is wrecked in a large crater with a Grave over its crest. Speak with Trackman again to start the process over, this time keeping an eye out for the Canyon’s snipers in the distance.

The tracker won’t progress if you drop it, so use any available source of healing to tank progress. I found the Ritual spell in the Voodoo tree to be a great way to hunker down.

Cactus turrets and mines can also hold your position wonderfully while you wait to gather data. You can get a very nice bonus gold payout if you take on the Storm on hire difficulties, so the train wreck works as a decent grind spot if you really need the gold.

Secure wreck number two, and you’ll have one left, locked in Area 41. This area requires you to complete Dr. Sparkplug’s questline, so give the Desert a couple of runs to unlock the next step!

    Train Wreck 3 – Area 41

Area 41 is a toxic wasteland, full of Marauders and Cryptids. It’s also the final Wreck location, nestled in a small area in the northeast surrounded by rivers. Hop over the toxic bog to find Trackman, and start one last phase of data collection.

Toxic waste carriers seem to be more common in Area 41, and can really force you to move quick. If you see one coming, drop the Data Tracker off a bit behind you before handling the threat at range. Don’t want to risk the quest item getting blown away after all.

Once you gather the last of the data, you’ll unlock the Far Far North! You’ll now be well on your way to having the whole of Far Far West’s map unlocked, with the opportunity for more weapons, skins, and Jokers!
