In Final Fantasy Resonance, you’ll need to use Magicite to unlock the true potential of your Visions. But, until very late in the game, Magicite Crysts are at a premium, meaning you will only be able to select a few Visions to upgrade to full power.
It’s a tough choice considering that you’ll have anywhere from 15-20 to choose from by the time Crysts start becoming available.
So, to help you make this decision, we have earmarked the Visions that we would suggest you upgrade first.
Cloud

Firstly, we have Cloud, a Vision that you’ll get very early in the game, but also one that you’ll want to keep upgrading as you go. This is because they are amazing at triggering critical hits and getting the most out of each one. Something that pairs very well with Rain and Lasswell’s stagger-focused approach.
With a full awakening you not only get full lightning immunity, but also gain a huge buff to critical-focused moves like Braver, Ascension and Cross-Slash, allowing you to fully lean into this critical heavy style.
Shantotto

Dealing elemental damage is great when you have the type coverage, but it’s always good to have a non-elemental back-up that is guaranteed to rack up huge damage no matter who the foe is. That’s what Shantotto gives you when fully awakened.
They gain access to Meteor and Flare, two super powerful non-elemental attacks. Plus, if you want to lean into her Dark typing, you can also make use of Play Rough that gives you a 40% buff if you’ve been hit by that enemy in the fight.
Onion Knight

Arguably the best Vision to fully awaken early, as you’re essentially guaranteed an extra attack every move. Onion Knight gains the Dual Jobs skill which allows to use Blade Torrent alongside any other skill you like. Meaning you can set up while also staying on the offense, or double down with two attacks.
This pairs excellently with their Resonance attack which grants 20% extra damage to Blade Torrent for the duration of the battle. Plus, if you need to focus on physical or magic damage specifically, Job Change allows you to lean into either on the fly. Onion Knight is all about versatilty and utility, and with this moveset, you can see why.
Amelia

In the same spirit as Onion Knight, we include Amelia as well, as you’ll gain the Trigger Happy ability, which is a means of activating Dual Guns much more consistently when an enemy is suffering from Slow, Deshell or Deprotect.
This ups this chance to 75% of the time, which essentially grants you a second turn, albeit locking in the same action twice. It’s simple, two actions is always better than one, and Trigger Happy makes this something that occurs more often than not.
Firion

Lastly, we have Firion, who is a decent mid-game option that is ideal for those that want to bolster the defence of their squad for tougher battles while also having someone that can then flip to offense at a moments notice.
Auto Regeneration is the standout feature of their full awakening, as you’ll constantly heal every turn without a need to use any items or spells. Plus, you can cast regen on allies to have them reap the same rewards.
Plus, you’ll also gain an upgraded version of Fulminated Strike that ups stagger but critically, also deals decent damage in this elevated form.
