Far Far West – Best & Most OP Combos

Spells are a major component of Far Far West’ combat loop, and each of the 5 magic classes boast unique elemental effects. The best part is that spells of different elements can combo with each other, wildly increasing their effectiveness.

Today, I’ll be going over some of the best combos you can put together using your offensive spells. Let’s start from the top!

    How do Spell Combos Work?

Spell Combos are very straightforward, they simply require casting one spell into another. Say you want to enchant a Cactus summon. Just cast your Cactus spell, and cast the second spell while looking at it.

    Acid + Elec

Used to introduce the concept of Combos to the player, blasting an Acid puddle with a Pyro or Elec spell can have some explosive consequences.

Pyro spells that impact Acid puddles will cause the puddles to explode, dealing extra fire damage in a radius and burning any enemy caught in the blast. The extra damage and massively increased radius make it an easy, low-cooldown combo to punish enemies that linger in your Acid.

Elec is a little spicier. Casting an offensive Elec spell like Strikes into Acid puddles will cause the lightning to strike all puddles connected to the initial strike zone. These extra Elec strikes do bonus damage and consume the Acid, clearing the area and replacing the acid with lightning scars.

This combo actually goes both ways, as any Acid spell that impacts a lightning scar will cause the initial lightning strike to repeat, dealing incredibly AOE damage to any Cryptics caught by both the stream of Acid and the extra lightning.

    Voodoo + Elec

Voodoo spells allow you to hang back and play a bit more strategically, be it via bonus healing or enemy manipulation. As such, their main combo allows quick-thinking players to get some bonus healing out of their other offensive spells.

Whether it’s a lingering flame, lightning scars, or an Acid puddle, casting a targeted Voodoo spell like Drain, Rescue, or Corruption near the residue of a spell will spawn bonus healing Candles that can be picked up by any nearby player.

These candles heal for 1-3 HP each, and can be summoned from your own blast residue or those left behind by allied spells. These serve as a stellar source of bonus healing, an absolute godsend in higher difficulty missions where you’re bound to take plenty of chip damage.

While any of the three work for the combo, Elec leaves so much residue after its spells that it seemed the most consistent for Voodoo.

    Cactus + Voodoo

Cactus is the thinking man’s spell tree, providing several autonomous buddies to take the pressure off your back and throw some right back at the Cryptics. While they can more than work on their own, each can be greatly buffed by comboing them with other sources of Elemental damage.

While each Cactus spell can be modified to deal the damage of any other Element, Voodoo, and Elec spells give the biggest bang for your buck by far.

Let’s start with the humble Mino, a respawning landmine that starts the Cactus tree. Casting a Voodoo spell near it will enchant the Mino, replacing its next explosion with a large radius Corruption spell that can affect multiple enemies.

For a period, these enemies will fight for your team, gaining damage resistance and increased aggression against your foes. This Corruption can affect any non-boss enemy, allowing you to cut a horde in half or turn a major player to your side.

In turn, casting an Elec spell on the Mino, or any Cactus summon, will cause it to send out a web of lightning strikes in all directions before enchanting the summon with Elec damage. While any element can enchant a Cactus, the extra AOE damage granted by Elec spells gives them great instant reward on top of their continuous support.

This Elec benefit is nice, but not as game-changing as the corruption, so I’d recommend Voodoo as the combo piece.

    Acid + Voodoo

As said previously, Acid and Elec is potent, but comboing it with Voodoo is also a great idea.

Acid slows and chips enemies down, and getting bonus healing off of the puddles make winning the endurance war a cinch. Voodoo can also enhance some Acid spells, like Bubble, if timed properly.

Overall, Voodoo and Acid are both great spell schools to run, and knowing how to use them together is a very smart call.

Slows, DOTs, and Turrets, what more could you want? Enchanting your Cactus summons with Acid will grant them both, and is a huge boon to their effectiveness.

If you can keep the enemy in the Acid and your summons enchanted, you’ll be able to hunker down in an area like no other combo.

If you need to defend one area, like for certain character quests or a Boss Spawner, take the time to prep before the enemies show, and they’ll melt.
