Final Fantasy Resonance, much like all other JRPGs on the market, asks the player to grind if they want to become the strongest, most feared knight in the land. Which means you’ll need to wander Lapis, fighting random enemies one after another. But, you’ll likely find that you don’t have enough control over encounter frequency.
When you want to avoid them and get to the next area, they are all too frequent, and then you want to grind XP, they trigger far too slow.
We have a few solutions for these scenarios, allowing you to grind or evade combat, depending on your current situation
How To Increase Encounters

The reality is that, if you want to trigger encounters a little more frequently in Final Fantasy Resonance, there really is only two ways to go about that.
The most effective is when you gain access to the Colosseum in Gransheldt after chapter five, you can head to the merchant inside, and you’ll be able to purchase the Foe Attractor accessory. This will effectively double the amount of encounters you get into when wandering around the map.Â
Then secondly, players can also trigger encounters a little more frequently if they sprint instead of walking or travelling by Chocobo.Â
How To Decrease Encounters

As you might expect, there is a twin accessory that can be bought to lower encounters. This is the Warding Bell, which will half the amount of encounters you’ll get into when exploring. An item that can also be purchased in the Grandshelt Colosseum.Â
However, there are other methods you can use to avoid engaging in combat aside from this. Encounters will still occur with the same frequency, but you can use items such as Smoke Bombs to make a guaranteed exit from any non-essential battle.Â
Plus, you also have the option to simply choose ‘escape’. Which will give you a chance of getting out of a fight depending on your power in relation to the enemies you face.
In addition to this you can also use areas on the map to reset the pulsing indicator on your mini-map, so popping in and out of landmarks can effectively help you avoid getting into battles.
