Blue Protocol: Star Resonance – How to Fish

Fishing is one of the mechanics for XP leveling in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance. You will have noticed a handful of fishing spots marked on the maps. While you could go up to them, you won’t find a lot happening here if you don’t have the right gear. If you are new and are wondering how to fish, this guide will detail the basics of fishing in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance.

How to Unlock Fishing in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance

Start off by completing the “Fireworks Fantasy Night” main story quest, which unlocks the “Invitation from the Fishing Guild” quest to teach you how to fish. To start the fishing quest, make your way to Asterleeds’ Celestine Plaza waypoint and head north to find the Fishing Guild Member.

Speak to her to start the quest, and she will hand over a Regular Rod and 5x Beginner Bait. You will be tasked with catching an Asterscad from the nearby Yacht Harbor. Head over there and follow the on-screen commands to catch the fish. Return to the Fishing Guild Member to receive the following rewards.

    • Regular Bait x5
    • Precise Bait x5
    • Luno (Bound) x300
    • Adventurer EXP x30,000

Check your map for any nearby fishing spots, then press F to start fishing. Press V while in Fishing mode to bring up the Fishing menu. Over here, you get to purchase new rods and baits, research about fish, and even check which city offers which fish type. After exploring the menu, head back out to the fishing screen. Press M to bring up the Rods menu and pick any existing rod, and N to bring up the bait menu.

After picking your rod and bait, press the LMB to cast. Keep an eye out for an exclamation mark that will appear once the bait goes underwater. This will start the fishing mini-game. Hold down LMB to start reeling in the fish, and also either press the A or D keys in the direction the fish is. If the fish is on the left side, press A; if it is on the right side, press D.

The meter below will start filling up as you hold on to the fish. The goal here is to keep the progress bar as low as possible. Once the bar fills up, your line will snap. You have to wait for the fish icon on the right side of the meter to make it completely to the left to successfully catch the fish. Keep reeling and releasing the rod to keep the rod engaged while not filling up the progress bar, and move the rod according to the fish’s movement.
