The land of Ezo in Ghost of Yotei offers several unique quests and side quests, and each region offers a set of Mythic Tales to uncover. These longer side quests will give you a deeper understanding of the lore surrounding the land, and you also get to test Atsu’s skills to get to the end of the quests. You will encounter 1 Mythic Tale per region, making it a total of 7 Mythic Tales to find and complete.
The Crimson Kimono Location
While following the Kitsune main story quest, you will be taken to Teshio Ridge. Over here, make your way to Sakuru Woods to find the Mother Daughter Tree. Speak to Ugetsu under the tree to start the quest.
Reward: Crimson Kimono Armor
Takezo the Unrivalled Location
You need to either visit Ugetsu the Storyteller near the Coastal Duelling Tree or visit the first Duelling Tree near the Shikotsu River to start the quest. Check out our complete guide on all Duelling Tree locations to complete this quest.
Reward: Dual Katana Spirit Attack
The Five Teachings Location
This quest unlocks automatically after completing Takezo the Unrivalled mythic quest. You need to get to the top of Mount Yotei to complete the quest. Take the western Shrine Path from Yotei Grassland’s Mount Yotei Shrine to start the climb up. Completing the quest will give you the Unrivaled achievement.
Reward: Gilded Night and Gilded Dawn weapon kit.
The Undying Samurai Location
During the main quest, The Oni, you will reach Ishikari Plain. Seek out Ugetsu the storyteller at Storyteller’s Rest, north of Nakagoya Spring and west of White Deer Woodlands. This will start the Undying Samurai mythic tale, where you need to locate 4 wind chimes to summon the Undying Samurai. Defeating the samurai will give you a unique armor set as your reward.
Reward: Armor of the Undying
The Spider Lily General Location
Upon reaching the Tokachi Range, head south of the region to find the Mysterious Gate. When you approach the gate, Ugetsu will warn you about the dangers lying beyond. Explore the area and collect 4 keys to unlock the abandoned estate, which brings you closer to the Spider Lily General boss fight. Defeat him and claim his armor as your own.
Reward: Spider Lily Armor
The Legend of Opusnupuri Location
After completing the Prologue, make your way to Nayaro Wilds to find this mythic tale. If you haven’t been to Nayaro Wilds yet, head north of the Tokachi Range and visit the Central Ferry at the Great Lake. Speak to the woman here to use her boat and head out to Nayaro Wilds. Once here, head over to Husko Kotan and listen to the yukar storyteller to start the quest.
Reward: Charm of True Aim
The Storm Blade Location
