Ghost of Yotei features a long list of armor sets, all of which cater to a different playstyle. If you prefer to take your gameplay more stealth-oriented, or just want to hit everything that moves. Ghost of Yotei gives you the weapon and armor that will help you boost your playstyle so you can unleash the chaos in the game. Here, we will take a look at all the best armor for the early run in Ghost of Yotei.
Spider Lily Armor Set

Where to Find: Head to the Mysterious Gate located near Yamane Bluffs, south of Tokachi Range in the first region of the map. Finish the Spider Lily tale in the game to unlock the armor set.
Best Suited for: Offensive Play
- Enemies have a small chance to drop throwable weapons.
- A melee weapon can inflict stagger damage by a decent amount.
- Staggering an enemy might lead to dealing stagger damage to close enemies.
This armor is a favorite amongst new players because of its crimson red appearance and the stagger damage. Another handful perk is gaining a chance to get a throwable weapon from any killed enemy. It doesn’t matter what type of enemy, as long as you take them down, you might get a throwable weapon. Breaking an enemy’s guard also releases a shockwave, which acts as an AoE attack.
Bounty Master Armor Set

Where to Find: Keep completing Bounties, and after a while, Kojiro will contact you about a new target that you must take down and get the Bounty Master Armor set.
Best Suited for: Parrying
The ultimate risk vs reward system if you are into parrying.
- Perfect Parry and Dodge’s window is now increased. Regular parries are not performable; you must rely on perfect parries and dodges.
- When you do pull off a perfect parry, it can lead to 3 additional counterattacks.
- You will gain more Spirit by wearing this set.
When you perform a perfect parry, the attacks will also be controlled manually to hit other enemies nearby. While the armor disables the option for regular parry, it does allow you to block. You can always resort to blocking to get ahead if the regular parry becomes a difficult move to perform. The weapon does give out more Spirit, helping you to heal up during many combat scenarios, especially if you are taking damage from enemies.
Crimson Kimono Armor Set

Where to Find: Talk to Ugetsu at Mother Daughter Tree at the Teshio Ridge region.
Best Suited for: Stealthy assassinations
Here we are building the stealthiest armor playstyle. The armor is designed for anyone who prefers to do everything close and in silence.
- You can use Kunai to chain assassinations (Max at 2)
- The enemy will have a harder time detecting Atsu
- You can perform a Kusarigama assassination from a distance.
Note: To take advantage of the third perk, you need to unlock the Lethal Talon for Kusarigama, which allows you to use the weapon to perform an assassination from a distance by pressing Triangle + Circle. The first perk also requires the Chain Assassination perk to allow taking down two enemies in succession.
If stealth is the run-n’-game playstyle, then you will love the Crimson Kimono. The highlight here is obviously the third perk that allows you to use your Kusarigama to assassinate a target from far away. And then you can use the Kunai to chain assassinations. The sky is the limit if you are looking for a stealthier approach to the game; Crimson Kimono will help you accomplish dominating the game early, enhancing your stealth skills.
Dragonfly Armor Set

Where to Find: Head to Cairn Forks, located in the Tokachi Range. Talk to Daijiro to start the quest to unlock the Dragonfly armor.
Best Suited for: Ranged Combat with Bow
- A full-drawn bow creates a blue light on the tip. Firing the arrow increases the damage and range of the shot. This shot is called the Empowered Arrow shot.
- Firing an empowered arrow now helps you gain a good amount of Concentration.
- Increases arrow reload speed.
Here we are moving to range-focused. If range is the name of your gameplay, then Dragonfly will be the best suited to your playstyle. It doesn’t matter if you like to carry a long or short bow with you; both benefit from the Dragonfly armor set. The armor will hinder the playstyle of anyone who wants to rapid-fire arrows, since most of the damage from the armor set comes from the Empower Shot, which requires a good amount of build-up to perform at its best.
Armor of The Undying Armor Set

Where to Find: Head to Ishikari Plain after the Main Tale: The Oni, then you will meet up with Ugetsu the Storyteller to begin a new quest.
Best Suited for: Offensive play and weapon switching
- Staggering enemies restores a major amount of health. (Weapon Alignment Required)
- The window to Perfect Parry and Dodge is raised. (Weapon Alignment Required)
- Focus Attacks can increase stagger damage. (Weapon Alignment Required)
Another great early game armor set that holds a good number of offensive skills. The armor does come with plenty of buffs, but they do require the weapons to be aligned with the enemy to trigger them. You will always need to use the weapon that counters your opponent to start the armor’s buff. Make sure to have all the weapons at your disposal, so equip the proper weapon that counters your enemy’s weapon.
All armor sets mentioned in the article will help you cater the game to a certain playstyle in Ghost of Yotei. Choose that one that enhances your game style, and these armors will help you through the early run of the game. Of course, what you need to go along with this are all the right dyes in Ghost of Yotei, so that you look every bit the ninja (or samurai) when taking down your enemies! With this in place, try taking on the tough but exhilarating battle encounters at the 6 duelling trees in the game.
