As part of the Unrivaled trophy, you need to locate all 6 Duelling Trees and fight the bosses under them. Unfortunately, like most quest items in Ghost of Yotei, you won’t find the locations of these trees right away. To know where each tree is located, keep reading below.
Ghost of Yotei All Duelling Tree Locations
Duelling Trees are part of the quest chain called Mythic Tale: Takezo the Unrivalled. There are two ways to trigger this quest. The first trigger is to head over to any Duelling Tree by chance and fight the enemy within. After the battle, Ugetsu the Storyteller will appear to tell you a tale about the Disciples of Takezo. This also marks all potential Duelling Trees on the map.
The second trigger is to make your way to Ugetsu the Storyteller inside a camp on the Southern Coast of the Yotei Grasslands. The camp is right beside the Coastal Duelling Tree, which is the final location for the Takezo the Unrivalled side quest. Let’s go ahead and take a look at where to find all the trees below.
Disciple of Takezo – Duel Among Graves Location
In Yotei Grasslands, head west from your Home towards the Shikotsu River. The first duelling tree is just past the field filled with white flowers. Defeating this disciple will give Takezo’s Charm of the Unrelenting Warrior. Equipping the charm will increase your damage output when your health gets low.
Disciple of Takezo – Duel Before the Mountain Location
Head west of Yotei Shadow Inn towards Yotei River. You will spot a White Dye House here. Just northwest of the house is the second Duelling Tree. Clearing the enemy under this tree rewards you with Takezo’s Charm of Renewed Determination. Utilising this charm grants Spirit anytime you take damage.
Disciple of Takezo – Duel Beneath Red Leaves Location
Travel far north from your Home till you reach the Dead Man’s Tree in Ohara Plains. Travel northwest from here to find the Duelling Tree, just west of the Yubari Tree. You will receive Takezo’s Charm of Bold Deflection after clearing the area. This charm increases stagger damage from parries.
Disciple of Takezo – Duel in the Marshlands Location
From Yotei’s Shadow Inn, travel east towards the western border of the Tokachi Range. Within Tomamu Marshlands is where the fourth Duelling Tree is. Clear this tree to take Takezo’s Charm of Bracing Victory. While defeating staggered enemies with this charm equipped, it helps restore health.
Disciple of Takezo – Duel Among Ruins Location
The fifth tree isn’t too far from the fourth one. Travel northeast of the fourth Duelling Tree towards the Green Dye House. Just north of that, near Niikappu Falls, is the Duelist Tree. Once this is cleared, you get the Takezo’s Charm of the Stout Heart, which increases the potency of the Heal technique by a minor amount.
Takezo the Unrivalled – Battle Against the Master Location
The final tree is found in the Southern Coast, right where you had to meet Ugetsu the Storyteller. This is where you will meet Takezo after waiting for him at the campsite nearby. After the duel, you will unlock the Five Teachings quest. You need to equip all 5 charms and meet Takezo on top of Mount Yotei for the final showdown.
