Zero Parades: How To Get A Prybar

As you wander through the streets of Portofiro for the first time, getting your bearings In-Theatre as CASCADE, you’ll come across your fair share of containers and environmental oddities that will require certain tools to access.

In some cases, that might be a lockpick, and in other cases, that might be a screwdriver. But, we want to discuss how to get a Prybar in Zero Parades, as it’s not immediately obvious where to go, especially as the means of getting this item is time-critical.

So, if you’re in need of something with excellent heft to pry open some stubborn containers, this should help out even the most absent-minded spy.

    Where To Get The Prybar

Before the ‘how’ is the question of ‘where’. To get the Prybar in Zero Parades, you’ll need to visit Dr Gonza, who can be found in Party Alley, a seedy area of the map that can be found if you follow the path immediately left after exiting the 24-Hour Foto Shop.

However, one important caveat to keep in mind is that Dr. Gonza is only available at night. So, you’ll want to wait until after 9 PM before heading to his practice.

However, we would suggest heading down to the Old Docks during the day and visiting Dr. Hugo, as they have something that belongs to Dr. Gonza that’s worth picking up ahead of time to complete a quest linked to Gonza in rapid time. In any case, this will kill some time until the evening rolls around.

You can be as prepared as you like for weirdness when playing Zero Parades. Nothing will prepare you for what awaits you behind Dr. Gonza’s door. You’ll be met with the good doctor standing on his desk with a noose around his neck, questioning you violently if you’re a board narc.

Thus begins the task of trying to talk this manic physician off a ledge and convince him that you are, in fact, not a ‘board narc.’

To do that, you’ll want to meet him on his level and help him deal with the board presence outside his door. Which effectively means agreeing to knock out one of the unsuspecting bystander’s teeth as proof that he has been dealt with.

Agree to do this, and you’ll gain the Prybar, an item that isn’t just great for knocking around unwitting civilians, but doubles as a great tool for uncovering hidden items and secrets around Portofiro.

However, we also need to add that you don’t necessarily need to knock the stuffing out of this Board Narc to calm Gonza down. Instead, you’ll be given a tough check to ‘Get on his level. A check that is governed by the Nerve skill.

Don’t panic, though; you don’t necessarily need to pass this check, as failing this check will lead to you ingesting some nasty medical fluid. Which will increase your Delirium, Anxiety, and Fatigue by two. But if you double down and chug again, adding an additional 2+ to your Anxiety stat, Gonza will stand down, and you won’t need to knock anyone’s teeth out.

Ultimately, it’s up to you, but either way, you’ll get your hands on the Prybar you need.

    What Does The Prybar Do?

As mentioned, the Prybar is a tool that can be used in certain situations throughout your time In-Theatre to open containers that would otherwise be inaccessible.

One of the earliest examples of this is located at this point on the map, where you will find a handy little pack of smokes, which is handy if you need to keep your Delirium in check. However, you’ll come to find that plenty of other containers around Portofiro will make use of this tool, so keep it handy.

This will be added to your Operant Toolkit when you acquire it, so be sure to have it equipped to your ‘held’ slot to access containers that need this tool.
