Zero Parades: How To Get The Lockpick

Much like the Chain Cutters and the Prybar in Zero Parades, the Lockpick, like the Prybar, is a must-have tool for an espionage professional. This is a tool that not only helps you pass some skill checks allowing you access to locked areas, but also gives you access to containers around the map containing handy items.

But, unless you happen to talk to a certain NPC, you’ll probably wander aimlessly in search of this piece of kit. Plus, even if you do find the NPC in question, you’ll still need to do some extra steps to afford the Lockpick. So here’s a quick guide to get your hands on this item early.

    Where To Find The Lockpick

Assuming you’re making a beeline for this item as soon as you leave the 24-Hour-Foto shop, you’ll want to head down the hill until you reach the Quisach Roundabout. This is the area just outside the Bazaar with a gazebo.

Then you’ll want to hug the water’s edge until you see a lifted barrier, and a shady looking guy on the other side.

The Lockpick is in the possession of this NPC, known as Goat Eyes. He sells a number of things, including some more potent drugs than the Prehistoric Weed he’s holding if you press him. But the marquee item is the Lockpick, which you can purchase for 30x Sol.

As you might have gathered when looking at your funds when you start Zero Parades, you only have a paltry 16 Sol to your name. A fair bit short of the price for the Lockpick.

Unlike in Disco Elysium, there’s no option to turn in Tare for some cash, making it a little less obvious where you can earn some cash. So allow me to enlighten you.

If you head to the Bar in Party Alley, and speak to the woman behind the bar, she will eventually reveal a dialogue option that allows you to work a shift at the bar.

If you offer your help and commit to the shift, you will have to sacrifice four in-game hours. But you will gain a payment of 30x Sol off the books. Meaning you can buy the Lockpick, and still have some left over for more recreational purchases.

What To Use The Lockpick For

The Lockpick, much like the Prybar, is an item that can be used for unlocking different containers around the map of Portofiro, usually leading to your pocketing some consumables that will help you manage your statuses and avoid losing any skill points.

However, alongside this, the Lockpick can be used to pass skill checks and unlock doors that would otherwise need another method to open.

For example, this Lockpick can be used to open the door to Tempo’s office. Easily the cleanest method of entry, and it makes you look like a pro to the Boatman watching from below. Just one of a few cases where the Lockpick will make your life easier.
