Elden Ring Nightreign offers a more dynamic and challenging environment to test your skills around Limveld. Since the bosses here are quite tough, you need to learn how to manage FP and HP loss so you can keep going. As a Recluse, things can get even harder, as you will depend on FP entirely being a mage class. Here is how you can manage your FP as a Recluse in Nightreign.
Nightreign: How to Restore FP as Recluse
You restore FP by siphoning off affinity residue from the enemy. You siphon off affinity residue by hitting the enemy with a particular elemental damage (magic, holy, lightning or fire). Each time you use a spell or a weapon imbued with that element, it has the added benefit of charging up the Recluse’s special ability – the Magic Cocktail. Building up 3 charges gets this activated, and you can then unleash specific attacks on enemies, or buffs for your allies, depending upon the combination of elemental charges in the Cocktail.
So, to summarize, to restore FP while in combat, do these steps:
- Aim at the chosen enemy, and you will notice a white and blue ring surrounding the enemy.
- Use your defensive ability, by holding down LT+Y (Xbox)/ L2+△ (PS).
- This will pull out the elemental skill of the target and convert it into FP for the Recluse.
- Do this thrice to activate the Magic Cocktail.
- If you cast Magic Cocktail a fourth time, you deal damage depending on the type of charges accumulated.
- This will also use up all of your spell’s three charges.
- If you have completely run out of FP before you can fight another target, there are two more ways to restore FP.
- The easiest way to do that is to find the nearest Site of Grace and have your FP restored, similar to how a healing flask works.
- But, if you are too far away from any Site of Grace, look around for a secluded tree trunk that glows blue in the overworld.
- These tree trunks are easily identifiable by their unique coloring, and also for the fact that they are usually surrounded by blue glowing saplings. Interact with the tree to restore FP.
