Some of the quests in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered will have you making some tough choices. You might have to choose between two different NPCs and who you wish to help or save, and all this will boil down to the rewards you get in the long run. During the Order of the Virtuous Blood quest, you will be sent out to hunt down one of the NPCs, but you can choose a different path if you want a different outcome to the quest. This guide will cover whether you should kill Roland or Seridur in Oblivion Remastered.
How to Start the Order of the Virtuous Blood Quest in Oblivion Remastered

You can pick up this quest in the Imperial City’s Temple District after attaining Fame Rank 5 and beyond. An NPC called Ralsa Norvalo will automatically come up and ask you to meet someone at Seridur’s house. Check the quest marker to find the house within the Temple District, then enter it to speak to Seridur. He will tell you how he suspects Roland Jenseric of being a vampire. As the leader of the Order of the Virtuous Blood, Seridur will request your help in killing Roland.
Roland’s whereabouts is currently unknown, so make your way to his house in the southern section of the Temple District. Enter it and investigate the note on the table in front of you to know where he would be. You can also explore the other areas of his home to learn more about him. Next, make your way to the cabin mentioned in the note, which can be found in the Heartlands, east of the Imperial City. Speak to Roland and then make a call on whether to kill him or not.
Kill Seridur

If you listen to Roland completely, he will tell you that Seridur is the real vampire and will refer you to Phintias. You can find Phintias inside the Market District’s First Edition Bookstore in Imperial City. Increase your deposition with Phintias to above 60 first to get a clue on where you can find Seridur next. The area will be marked on your map, so head over there to find him.
You will be led to Memorial Cave, but the cave itself is filled with tons of tough enemies. Plus, there is a chance you might turn into a vampire while here, so try to protect yourself from that. Eventually, you will find Seridur, who does happen to be the real vampire. He will attack you, so kill him using Fire attacks and loot his corpse, then return to Roland to complete the quest.
Kill Roland
While you are in Roland’s cabin, you can choose to ignore whatever he has to say and kill him outright. This will complete the quest rather early, and you can head back to Seridur to claim your reward.
Which Option to Pick?
You should go after Seridur and kill him instead of Roland. Not only is he the true vampire, but the rewards you get for siding with him are rather disappointing. For believing in Seridur, you receive just 250 Gold. On the other hand, siding with Roland will offer you a lot more.
You can claim a unique ring called Ring of Sunfire that offers Resist Disease as well as Reflect Spell enchantments. Plus, for every Vampire Dust you sell him, he will offer 250 Gold. You can keep duplicating Vampire Dust using the Enchanted Chest and sell them to Roland to earn a small fortune.
