The zone has its own rule that we need to follow, the faction covers another layer of the rule. Going against any faction is an immediate death sentence, as they will become hostile immediately. But the game does offer us a chance to repair the guns, armor, and also faction reputations through many ways. Here in this guide, we will cover everything you need to know about Reputations in Stalker 2.
What Is Faction Reputation In Stalker 2?
Faction reputation allows us to build a healthy relationship with the members of the faction.
Being on their good side allows us to access the faction’s base, trade, and even haggle for better prices on the deals. But when you go out of your way to make the faction mad, they will become hostile. Once the faction decides or sees you as an enemy, you will also change the mission scenarios, character dialog, and the game’s ending as well.
All 12 Factions In Stalker 2

How To Gain & Lose Faction Reputation In Stalker 2
Each of the Factions is different than the other, with its own goals and the means to achieve them. Now we will look at the ways to gain a reputation with the faction members.
Gain Reputation
Here’s how you gain reputation with a Faction:
- Finish a mission for the faction: Completing any faction mission allows the faction to open trading possibilities and access to safe areas.
- Deal with the Enemy Faction: If you have decided to throw your support for one particular faction, you can think about eliminating the rival faction members to gain more solidarity with your chosen faction. When you kill a member belonging to a different faction group, they will start to resent you, the same goes for all factions. Picking favorites has consequences.
Lose Reputation
Here’s how you lose reputation with a faction:
- Killing faction members: It goes without saying, that taking the anger out on any faction members will not go over well with the factions. Over time they will stop trading and resort to an immediate firefight.
- Failing Missions: If you can’t complete the task assigned by your faction, then you will lose your reputation with them. Always make a save before a mission, so even if you do fail, you can always reload and try the mission again.
- Stealing: Not a great virtue in life but works wonderfully in post-apocalyptic scenarios. But if you do steal from faction members, then prepare to lose some reputation
- Triggering Alarms: Don’t trigger alarms in faction bases, or you will be open up to a whole lot of trouble. Make sure to stick to stealth to get things done or have a good reputation to enter the base.
- Betrayal: Never go against the back of your faction, if you team up with the enemies and reveal the secrets you will lose the reputation.
How Can You Repair Reputation With Factions?
If you managed to mess up your reputation with some factions, there are ways to fix it.
Stalker 2 also offers many ways to rebuild the broken relationship with the factions without the game leaving a permanent mark on your character. Here are some of the ways to fix a broken relationship with the faction and restore reputations:
- Avoid engaging with the faction members: If you have killed faction members in the past, the first step is to avoid killing them. If you are already in a bad relationship with the faction, they will start attacking you on sight, here completely avoiding them is the clear solution. Think of it as a Restraining order for yourself.
- Don’t enter Faction’s territory: Besides not killing them, the second step is to not enter any areas where the faction members are crawling. Your actions get remembered for too long, so avoid entering any faction areas.
- Sleep for Days: Over time the faction will lose interest in your character, they will not completely forget about the actions but they will be open up to trading or tasks. Killing time is the best way to make your action go thing of the past. Once they start handing out quests, you can complete them to earn a reputation.
- Have a conversation with Faction Leaders: Offer valuable items, complete tasks or pay a fee to restore your reputation with the faction leaders. Here we are basically buying the trust, so prepare to carry a heavy wallet to bring back the love from the faction.
Note: The amount of pay will reflect the extent of your mistake or crimes. If your mistake were serious, then you might have to pay more than just petty crimes.
