The only clue we had about the main protagonist of Persona 5: The Phantom X is its code name, Wonder. Persona 5 Phantom X does allow you to change the name of the main protagonist to almost anything. But the game does maintain the canon name for the main protagonist, or Wonder, in this case. Here are all the details about the protagonist’s canon name in Persona 5: The Phantom X.

The silent protagonist for Persona 5 Phantom X is named “Nagisa Kamishiro“. He goes under the code name Wonder. The canon name for the protagonist was first revealed in Natsuki Hanae’s P5X JP Early Access Livestream.

Nagisa Kamishiro is the canon name for the protagonist, but you are allowed to choose any name that comes to your mind. We will suggest changing the name to something different before joining in, as many players will run with the default name. Here is the list of details about Nagisa Kamishiro:

    • Age– He is around 16 to 17 years old
    • Chosen Firearm: Handgun
    • Chosen Melee Weapon: Knife
    • School Name: 2nd year Kokatsu Academy

Nagisa will also go by other names: Wonder, Leader, Sensei, Brother, and Prince.  He also shares different titles in other languages: Shujinkou – Wandaa (Japan), Ju’in’gong – Wondeo (Korea), Zhǔréngōng – WONDER (Traditional & Simplified Chinese). The English version of P5X had the default name for the protagonist as Nagisa Kamisiro, because of the 8-letter word max limit for English releases.

Persona 5 Phantom X follows its tradition of keeping the main player silent. This allows for a more immersive engagement with the game for the player controlling it. The decisions and actions executed by the Wonder will be based on the choices we made through him. Since you are allowed to change the name of the protagonist, your decision and actions will make the character represent the player more than its own entity.

How Many Times Can You Change a Protagonist’s Name?

You can change the main protagonist’s name as many times as you want without any limit. But there is a slight cost attached to the process.

If you are not satisfied with your name, you can change it to anything else; the first change is free. The later changes will cost 200 Meta Jewels (In-game Premium Currency). Just head on over to your profile icon on your phone, click on the ellipses over your icon to change your name.
