Not only can you work on your fishing in the new Tides of Terraria update, you can also scour the waters for rare loot and salvage them. Since salvaging is also a big part of Palworld’s gameplay mechanics, you need to learn how to properly prepare yourself for it. There are a few requirements you need to fulfil before you can jump into the waters and scavenge for loot, and this guide will explain everything there is to know about Salvaging in Palworld.

Besides fishing, you might also find debris floating on the water’s surface. Before you can pick them out, you need to unlock and craft the Fishing Magnet. The Fishing Magnet schematic is available to unlock at the Technology tree, but you have to reach level 61 to get it. This item can also be crafted at the Production Assembly Line II, along with the Advanced Fishing Rod and Alluring Bait.

But, you will require 1x Hexolite to craft it. The Fishing Magnet is a one-time use item, so you might need to craft a handful of them if you will be spending more time out in the waters. Now that you are ready, head over to any water body and get on your Water Pal that can swim out into the depths. Once you spot any item you wish to pick up, interact with it to use up one Fishing Magnet.

A quick mini game will appear, and you need to clear it to collect the item. If you lose, you can try again, but it will consume another Fishing Magnet from your inventory. Playing the mini game is pretty simple, all you need to do is place the spinning pointer exactly at the green spot. There is no timer here, but you need to be extra accurate to get the pointer within the safe zone.

Some of the rare items that you can collect by salvaging are boost for your Pals, Advanced Schematics, Gold, Crafting Materials, Training Manuals, and Pal Souls. The rewards that you get here are random, so you should take your time trying to check out the water surfaces to locate all floating debris and try your luck trying to get them.
