The troubling journey in the Zone will come to an end but with four different endings. The decisions from the past will come into play, and they will have an effect on the quest line and how the story closes for your actions in the game. Here in this guide, we will take a look at all four endings to Stalker 2, the point of no return, and all decision-making points that play a part in how the game ends for you.
Point Of No Return For Stalker 2 End Game
Starting the ‘Down Below’ mission is the point of no return for Stalker 2. You will get this mission after you finish the quest ‘The Road to the Foundation‘. Once you begin the ‘Down Below’ mission, you will block out the rest of the zone and cancel all side missions you have on your log. The game will warn you about the Down Below questline, if you proceed with the mission you will fail every active side quest.
However, it is critical to note that the decisions you make during the main missions ‘Subtle Matter’ and ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ – mission nos. 27 and 28 play a big role in deciding which of the 4 endings pan out for you.
Our advice is to make a hard save before the Subtle Matter mission before continuing forward. The mission just before Subtle Matter is Legends of the Zone, so be prepared accordingly once this mission kicks off.
All 4 Endings In Stalker 2
In Stalker 2, we can reach four different endings leading to different outcomes, all based on our actions in the game. These are:
Strelok Ending
Here we end the game with Strelok entering the pod, containing the zone. By far the best ending to Stalker 2.
Crucial Decision #1 Subtle Matter
When Scar catches you using the Visiograph in Orbita Station, we encounter the first decision for the Strelok ending.

Here choose the Life is for the Living to continue with the Strelok ending.
Crucial Decision #2 Dangerous Liaisons
When Korshunov catches you during this mission, you will leave with two choices.

- [Escape]
Here choose escape, this will officially kick you out of the Ward Ending for Stalker 2.
Crucial Decision #3 The Last Wish
After you finish “The Last Step” mission, you will get a mission titled “The Last Wish.” Here you will come face to face with the doctor in Red Forest. We will have two dialogue options:
- Lower the Gun
- Fire
Here choose to fire to set the last option to kick off the Strelock ending. In the end, you will see Strelock taking control of the zone.
The Ward Ending
The Ward Ending has Colonel Korshunov entering the pod to trigger the final outcome for the zone. The government takes control of the zone.
Crucial Decision #1 Subtle Matter
When Scar catches the Visiograph in Orbita Station, the first choice for the Ward Ending opens up to us.

Here choose the Life is for the Living to start the progress with the Ward ending.
Crucial Decision #2 Dangerous Liaisons
This is the last choice for the Ward ending in Stalker 2. When Korshunov catches you during this mission, you will leave with two choices.

Here choose I’m not your enemy, to officially start the Ward Ending for Stalker 2. There are no other choices after this.
Skif Ending
Here, Skif ends it all by entering the pod alone. We see an expansion of the zone to a wider area.
Crucial Decision #1 Subtle Matter
When you get caught by Scar using the Visiograph in Orbita Station, here we will encounter the first decision for the Skif ending.

Here choose Life is for the Living to continue with the Skif ending.
Crucial Decision #2 Dangerous Liaisons
When Korshunov catches you during this mission, end the Ward ending for Stalker 2 by fleeing from Korshunov.

Crucial Decision #3 The Last Wish
In the mission titled “The Last Wish” before the final mission. Here you will encounter the doctor in Red Forest. We will have two dialogue options:
- Lower the Gun
- Fire
Here choose to be the bigger man by “Lower the Gun“. This will start the gear for the Skif Ending for Stalker 2.
Scar Ending
This ending sees Scar stepping into the pod to complete the game’s finale. A dream sequence will take place painting the zone in a warm light and colors.

When you get caught by Scar using the Visiograph in Orbita Station, you must make the right decision to start the Scar ending.

When Korshunov catches you during this mission, end the Ward ending for Stalker 2 by fleeing from Korshunov.

Note: Not all choices in Stalker 2 affect the story, the dialogue that does leave any impact on the ending is mentioned in the article. Most of the choices you make in the game will change the outcome of that particular mission (like for example in Back to Slag Heap or All That Is Left), never the whole game.
