Enhanced Edition for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II Coming to PS5

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II wowed critics and audiences with its visuals and technical marvel, and is finally heading on to PlayStation 5 this August 12. While the game was released back in 2024, it is the first time Microsoft has released the game for PlayStation 5. The game will be a free update coming to the previous platforms: Xbox Series  X/S, PC, and Steam.

The Enhanced version of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II contains:

    • Performance Mod
    • Playable on Steam Deck
    • Dark Rot Mod
    • Enhanced Photo Mode
    • Developer Commentary

For PS5, all this will be available to all as part of the Standard Edition at 49.99$, and there is also an additional Deluxe Edition at 69.99$ that includes, in addition to the above:

    • Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 Enhanced Version + Original Hellblade (Optimized for PS5)
    • Senua’s Saga: Hellblade OST

Out of all the changes coming with the Enhanced Version, most would set their eye on the Dark Rot mod, the infamous mod from the original game, where every death in the game spreads a dark rot on Senua’s arm. Once the rot reaches the head, it’s an immediate game over. A perma-death mod is a welcoming addition for the veterans of the game.

While in the first game, the Dark Rot mod was never implemented completely, the mechanic was explained to create anxiety in the player. But it looks like Hellblade II will add the real effects of the Dark Rot, making the game challenging for the new and returning players. Besides the Dark Rot mod, for the first time, the game is now playable on Steam Deck, and the developer commentary will flesh out the details of the game’s world.

Other neat additions are performance details cranking the gameplay to 60 FPS, and the Very High graphics option for PC owners. Enhanced Photo Mode brings the feature Motion into the photo mode, allowing players to snap a perfect cinematic capture.
