In Where Winds Meet, you have to make several starting choices to enhance your character’s build. While most of the early game choices you make won’t matter in the long run, you do get a head start on some of the game’s objectives. Early on, you will get one Aspiration Talent point to use on either Drunken Precision or Rhetoric Edge. If you are unsure about the choice to make, we will explain each option below.
Drunken Precision or Rhetoric Edge Choice in Where Winds Meet

Your choice of placing an Aspiration Talent point on either Rhetoric Edge or Drunken Precision depends on which mini games you require more help with. Rhetoric Edge is useful for the Gift of Gab, while Drunken Precision helps with the Pitch Pot mini-game. After naming your character, you will be given one Aspiration Talent to use on either of these skills. Let’s break down what each skill offers.
Drunken Precision Explained
Drunken Precision grants the Tipsy effect in the Pitch Pot mini-game, reducing the required aim duration from about two minutes to one minute. This effect makes it easier to keep your aim steady within the circular zone for the necessary time, simplifying the challenge for those who struggle with holding aim.
Rhetoric Edge Explained
With this talent, you get +2 Inspiration for the Gift of Gab mini-game. These games are like debates, and Inspiration plays a huge role in the number of cards you get to pull. If you are just starting out, investing in this talent may be beneficial to help you win the early Gift of the Gab mini-games.
Which One to Pick?
I recommend that you pick Drunken Precision. While the Pitch Pot game is simpler to understand of the two, holding your aim steady for 2 minutes can be somewhat of a problem. In comparison, while the debate mini-game does have more information to process when you start, it becomes easy pretty quickly once you get the hang of it.
You will eventually get Aspiration Talent points as you play the game, and you can take the one that you did not pick in the beginning. So it is not a major decision as such, just that it makes the initial few mini-games that much easier for you during the opening hours.
