UV Bars have made a comeback in Dying Light: The Beast, and can be lifesavers as you try and survive the zombie hordes. Unfortunately, the occurrences of UV Bars are quite low here, but there are a few great farming spots to get a handful of them in the game. This guide will detail exactly where to find UV Bars in Dying Light: The Following.
UV Bars are legendary throwables that create an UV Light AoE, used to repel enemies temporarily. Utilizing UV Bars in tough situations gives you a few moments to compose yourself and plan your next strategy. Since they are highly sought after, they are also extremely rare to get. UV Bars don’t have a crafting blueprint, and the only way to get them is through scavenging.
Luckily, UV Bars respawn at the same spot after 30 minutes of real-time. You need to travel far away from the spawn point and return after 2 in-game sleep nights. Check nearby Dark Zones to see if the loot within has been taken recently; this indicates that all other loot on the map might have respawned. Now, let’s take a look at all the best spawn locations for UV Bars.
UV Bars Location #1: Doomsday Bunker
The Doomsday Bunker is one of the best spots to get 8x UV Bars. The bunker is located in the National Park, just west of Old Town. Check our guide on locating the Doomsday Bunker and how to get inside it here.
UV Bars Location #2: D2 Treasure Map
The D2 Treasure Map gives you the location of a few UV Bars. To find the map, head over to Recreation Island Tower Safe Spot to pick it up on top of the tower. Next, travel east from the safe spot to reach the northern edge of Old Town.
Find a building near the bridge that has an open window at the back of it. Enter through it and find a vent at floor level. Get inside and climb up the pipe or wooden platforms to reach the attic. Smash the target practice paper in the corner of the attic to get a key. Use the key on the cabinet within the same room to get 1x UV Bar, amongst other items.
UV Bars Location #3: Island Tunnel Convoy
Your next location will be close to the Mental Asylum, just southeast of the asylum. On the main road is the Island Tunnel Convoy, and right beside it is a tunnel. Enter the tunnel and break the crate in front of the door. Lockpick the door and defeat the Bomber inside. To the left of the door, check the locker to find one UV Bar.
UV Bars Location #4: Nate’s Market Dark Zone

UV Bars Location #5: Shed Locked Safe
Head east from Nate’s Market and travel a bit north once you get to the road leading north. On the eastern side is a shed, and to enter the shed, head inside the vent located at the side of the building. Inside is a safe, and using the code 11-20-30 will unlock it, giving you 1x UV Bar.
UV Bars Location #6: Volatile Tunnel
The Volatile Tunnel near the Exile’s Cave in the Villa Area has 1x UV Bar inside the locker. The locker is located inside the room where you get to interact with a locked door to summon Volatiles.
UV Bars Location #7: Industrial Zone
There are four UV Bars to find at different locations within the Industrial Zone.
To the northern section of the Industrial Zone, right at the southern section of the train tracks, is a blue container. Enter the container to find a dead body and a 1x UV Bar beside it.
For the second UV Bar, you will find it as part of the C1 Treasure Map. Once you reach the building with the safe, check the area beside the whiteboard to collect 1x UV Bar.
The third UV Bar is also found as part of the Treasure Map. After collecting the E2 Treasure Map, find the Taurus Gas Station Dark Zone and explore the garage beside it. To power up the garage, find the missing fuse within the Dark Zone, then repair the power generator inside the garage. This will unlock the door here, where you will spot 1x UV Bar on the table.
The final UV Bar is southwest of the E2 Treasure Map garage. Near the river, right in front of the hardware store, is a crashed car with a note inside. Read the note to get a code, then head over to the hardware store. Use the code on the locker in front of the hardware store to get 1x UV Bar, which is the final farming location for UV Bars in Dying Light: The Beast.
