Outer Worlds 2 – Go Through Security Ops or Central Dispatch?

The Outer Worlds 2 is all about making choices that impact how the story unfolds, and the game reinforces this by introducing a choice early on. While playing “A Cause Worth Killing For,” you’ll be introduced to a choice of whether you want to go through the Security Ops area or the Central Dispatch Area in The Outer Worlds 2. So, if you want to check on what happens for either option, this guide answers that for you.

What happens if you choose Security Ops

If you choose Security Ops, you get to experience how stealth works in Outer Worlds 2. This serves as a great way to get used to stealth mechanics, and the route also gives you plenty of ways and tools for this. For example, you get Decoy Grenades that help move guards away from the path. You get an opportunity to try Engineering Level 1 on security bots to take out enemies, instead of fighting them. You get a knife to sneak attack and one-shot enemies undetected. You can also get a Pumping Station Keycard early; this eliminates the need to kill Corbin later.

What happens if you choose Central Dispatch

The Central Dispatch route lets you experience the chaos and gunplay for Outer Worlds 2. The section also gives you a Vending Machine to resupply. There is a Stun Baton to melee enemies in combat. There is a terminal that gives you the opportunity to Hack (Level 1) and loot 500 Bits. At the end, you get a unique interaction with Niles, one of your future companions in The Outer Worlds 2.

Best Choice – Should You Choose Security Ops or Central Dispatch?

Neither option impacts the storyline in any way, so the only decision to make is whether you want to adopt a stealthy route or go in guns blazing. While there is a difference in terms of rewards that you get, these are not substantial enough to be a deciding factor. I would slightly lean towards the stealth part of the section since you get the Pumping Station Keycard that helps in the next section.

While this decision in the game does not hold much consequence, like in the original, you will come across such points in the game, like whether to choose Crabble Claw or Raptidon Fin, and others that we will not spoil for you here.
