Oblivion Remastered: How To Steal The Letter From Dairihill’s Office

Some quests in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered will not provide a clear objective on what you should do next or where you need to go. During the Taking Care of Lex quest, you are required to steal a particular letter from Dairihill’s Office. But the area in question is heavily guarded, making it seem impossible to sneak past. But, there is a way to complete the objective, and this guide will show you how to do it in Oblivion Remastered.

The secret here, is to get information from the right person on how to infiltrate the castle, which happens, in this case to be a beggar in Anvil. For the Taking Care of Lex quest, you need to help S’Krivva steal the List of Candidates from Dairihill’s office and replace it with the one recommending Lex for the position of Captain of the Guard. First, you need to locate Dairihill’s office, then steal the letter to have it forged. Make your way to Castle Anvil, but you can’t enter through the front. The beggar advises you to visit the blacksmith for more info.

Make your way to the castle’s smithy and speak to Orrin. He will lead you to a secret passage, but don’t enter it right now as you will find guards and sometimes Dairihill himself roaming around the castle. Instead, wait for 1 AM to roll by, then make your way up the stairs. Lockpick the door to the Private Quarters, then keep going up till you reach an alcove. Activate the left side pillar, go through the newly revealed entryway, then go left and open the wooden door to Dairihill’s quarters.

Lockpick the desk and collect the List of Candidates, then head back the same way that you came in to get the next objective. Do check out our other Oblivion Remastered guides like Fingers Of The Mountain Quest, Best Stealth Build, and Burning Trail Quest Guide to know more.
