You can explore the world of Cyrodiil to uncover new locations and new quests to pick up in Oblivion Remastered. If you plan on continuing your adventure beyond the base game offers, then you can get the DLC and unlock new quests within. There are some quests that will require a lot of legwork to locate all the right items, which is what will happen during the Burning Trail quest. This guide will cover how to complete this quest in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
How To Complete The Burning Trail Quest In Oblivion Remastered
For this quest, you need to pick up four notes scattered across different areas on the map. You should note that this is a DLC quest, without which you won’t get this quest in your quest log. Also, this quest will start automatically after picking up the first note, so let’s explore the areas where you need to go and find all four notes.
Note #1 – Talos Plaza

You can find Talos Plaza in the Imperial City, and once you spawn here, make your way towards the large Dragon Statue. Look around the base of the statue to find a barrel with a note stuck to it. Pick up the Mythic Dawn Pamphlet I to start the Burning Trail quest.
Note #2 – Hircine’s Shrine

Head south of the Imperial City towards Hircine’s shrine. You will find a statue of a wolf alongside a man. The previous note did hint at following the gaze of the wolf, so look towards the direction of the gaze to find a tree. Behind the tree is where you can spot the second note stuck to the bark.
Note #3 – Molag Bal’s Shrine

Next, head west of the Imperial City till you find Molag Bal’s Shrine. Stand in front of the Minatour statue and change the time to dawn, then head east towards the sunrise to find the third note stuck to a tree bark.
Note #4 – Lucky Old Lady

For the final note, make your way to the island on the shores of Bravil. Once you reach the town, find the chapel, and right in front of it is where you can spot the Lucky Old Lady statue. Step up to the statue and investigate the inside of the statue’s wall to find the last note.
Shy Drummer Location
The final note will mention seeking out a Shy Drummer, so make your way to the Lonely Suitor Lodge to the left of the chapel you were standing in front of. Cross the drawbridge and you will find the inn to your right. Find an NPC called Ranaline, but don’t ask her about the Mythic Dawn Notes just yet.
You need to pay a bribe and increase your reputation with her, after which you can talk about the notes. Doing so will help you unlock the next quest from her, ending this one in the process.
The Crimson Cave – Mingo Cave Location

After attaining the Mythic Dawn Hood and Robe from Ranaline, wear them and make your way just north of Bravil towards Hircine’s Shrine. From there, head southwest a bit to find the Mingo Cave. You can either defeat the enemies at the entrance of the cave, or run past them. The entrance to the cave can be found if you face north. If you have your disguise on, you can enter the cave without anyone detecting you.
Once inside the cave, make a save right here, as you need to make a choice a little further. Find and speak to Mehrunes’ Harbinger. They will ask you to burn the victim that is trapped inside the cage to show your support to the Septims. Refusing to do so will start a fight with everyone inside Mingo Cave, but agreeing to the request will help you get the Summon Mehrunes’ Harbinger spell.
When this spell is used, it will summon Mehrunes’ Harbinger, and you can claim all of the Cataclysm Armor and Weapons from them.
