The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered several tough main quests that will test your skills. During the Dagon Shrine quest, you will be stopped before entering the Mythic Dawn’s shrine by Harrow. You will be asked to turn in all your inventory items before you can enter, which can be a bummer if you have something of value on you. But there are ways to get your stuff back, and this guide will explain how to go about it in Oblivion Remastered.

After reaching Mehrunes Dagon as part of the Dagon Shrine quest, you will be stopped by Harrow before you proceed. Harrow will ask you to turn in all your inventory items, but he doesn’t indicate any promises of returning them at the end of the quest. There are several ways you can try and keep your items with you and bypass Harrow’s orders, and we will list them all out below.

    • The most straightforward method to keep your stuff is to kill Harrow, but this will start a full on war with all the cultists within the shrine.
    • But the easiest way to keep your stuff is to drop everything on the floor before talking to Harrow, then pick them up after the conversation.
    • Do remember that smaller items like gold and keys can be difficult to find once dropped, so rather let Harrow take them, then pickpocket your items back if you have high stealth.
    • Harrow will not touch quest items, so any gear acquired via quests or dropped from quest related enemies will remain in your inventory.
    • If you don’t want to drop your items on the floor because you might lose them, then you might have to kill the doorkeeper and use their corpse as storage.
    • Instead of killing the doorkeeper yourself, use a spell casting creature like a Lich if you have a high conjuring level. Attack the creature to lure it towards you and attack you, after which stand close to the doorkeeper so they will receive the attacks. The doorkeeper will start attacking the creature and die, and you can use their body to store your stuff and get it back after talking to Harrow.
    • You can also kill your follower if you have them around you and use their corpse as storage.
    • If you don’t mind waiting for a bit, hand over all your items and follow Harrow through the rest of the quest till you have to make a choice to agree or not to sacrifice Jeelius. If you agree, you receive a dagger, which can be used to kill Harrow later.
    • In case you have refused the sacrifice and chose to run out of the cave to avoid the cultists, then you can use your time to gather as much gear, equip them, then come back to find and kill Harrow to get your stuff back.
    • Sometimes, Harrow may follow you while you make your escape, so if you don’t find him inside the cave, take a look around the outer terrains and backtrack. You might find him wandering around the mountains or any area you were in previously.

You don’t have to stress too much about handing over your stuff to Harrow, as you can always try and get them back via the above methods.
