In No Man’s Sky’s latest update, you get to explore a whole new star system and uncover new planets while completing all the new quests for the Worlds Part 2 update. Once you have uncovered the new planetary system, you can get going to find hidden secrets. There are new Relic base parts added to the update, where you can add and construct relics at your base. This guide will show you how you can get all Relic Base Parts in No Man’s Sky.

How To Get Ruin Schematics In No Man’s Sky

There are several Ruin blueprints scattered all across the new planetary system, and it is up to you to track them down. But before you begin your hunt, you must complete the Worlds Part II main story mission, In Stellar Multitudes. This unlocks only after completing all previous story missions. With the In Stellar Multitudes quest completed, you can uncover the purple star systems and uncover new planets for exploration.

Next, head over to your Freight Warp Map on your Freight Ship’s main command console. From there, head over to the purple system and then go to the Scanner Room to activate the planetary probe. You will get a new menu, which shows you all available planets within the system. Run your cursor over all the planets shown on the right side of the menu and hover over them to read the descriptions for them. What you will be looking for are planets or moons that have the Abandoned status on them.

Collect Polished Stones & Memory Stone

Once you find an abandoned planet or moon, head over there and land your ship. After getting off, use your weapon to shoot down all the ruins in the area to get Polished Stone. You can easily spot these ruins jutting out from the ground as tall stone structures, and most of them have a chance of dropping Polished Stones once destroyed. After having gathered a few Polished Stones, use your scanner to collect the next material, which is Memory Stones.

Collecting Memory Stones unlocks the schematic for a unique Ruin, and you can access the schematic by heading over to your Log > Catalog and Guide > Building Parts > Exotic Parts. Keep scrolling past the pages till you spot the Ruin you have collected. If you hover your mouse over it, it will show you what materials you require. All of them will need Polished Stones, and some might require additional materials.

You can collect more Ruin schematics this way across all purple systems on each abandoned planet or moon. Some planets or moons will have multiple Memory Stones, so you might not be required to do a lot of exploration to collect all the schematics.

What Do Relic Base Parts Do?

These items are purely used for decoration around your bases, and you can craft them from the Building menu under Decoration. Relics can be scaled or rotated to your liking, so you can add huge or smaller relics depending on your aesthetics. To place them at your base, try to find a leveled area devoid of any obstructions. You will know if a location is ideal when the structure has a green hue instead of red, then use the respective button to place it down. You can now decorate your base with new Relic parts and unlock more schematics during your exploration.

The update also brings a way to unlock extra storage for ships and multitools, check our guide to know how exactly to do that.
