The newest No Man’s Sky update brings in tons of new features that make this open-world space exploration all the more thrilling. In Worlds Part 2, you can find a whole new star system and locate new planets and new objectives. Alongside the new update, you can also increase your storage space to include more multitools in your ship, and the process to go about it is rather easy. In this guide we will show you how to unlock extra storage in No Man’s Sky.
How To Get Weapon Rack Schematic For Extra Storage In No Man’s Sky Worlds Part 2

You can now create a new space specifically to store multitools and starships. There are 18 new slots to unlock, which can increase your storage immensely. To start, make your way to the Construction Research Station terminal at the Space Anomaly POI. You can find the Construction Research Station at the back of the Anomaly.
Once you interact with the terminal, you will get the research tree. Toggle to the Technology Modules and scroll down to find the Weapon Rack. This option is available on the left bottom section of the research tree.
How To Craft The Weapon Rack

Before you can unlock the Weapon Rack schematic, you must unlock the prior two research nodes: the Health Station and Hazard Protection Unit. Once you do all that and have the Weapon Rack schematic unlocked, you are all set to craft it. To craft the Weapon Rack, you collect the following materials:
- Pure Ferrite x5
- Cobalt x5
- Salvaged Data x5
Most of the above materials except Salvaged Data can be purchased from certain vendors or found on various planets, so you should have a bunch of these items by now. Once you have the materials, make your way to any of your bases and pick a spot where you would like to place your weapon rack. A large blank wall is preferred for this item. Next, head over to your build menu and go to the Advanced Technology tab to find the Weapon Rack.
How To Use The Weapon Rack

Place the Weapon Rack on the chosen area and you are good to go. You can then interact with it to bring up the Weapon Rack menu, where you can find all your active multi-tools on the left. Select the ones you want to put aside for storage and press the respective button that appears. It will be found on the right side screen now, where the storage is. You can also add additional weapon racks on your ship or other bases and still get access to all your stored weapons in one place.
Note: Primary weapons cannot be put aside in storage, and they have to be unequipped before being stored away.
How To Store Starships

You can also store away your starships, but this will require a different process. Head over to your Base Terminus and select any Freighter starships that you own. Then, make your way to the central console and interact with it. Head over to the Manage Fleet option, and you will spot a new option called Manage Starship Archive.
All your available starships will appear on the left side of the new menu, and you can select the ones you wish to store away and press the button. They will now be in storage, and you can view them on the right side of the screen.
Note: All ships that will be stored away will lose all the cargo within it, but won’t lose any installed technology.
The update also gets you a way to find Relic Base Parts, we have put up a guide to help you with this, do check it out.
