Mewgenics – Best Items For Hunter Class

In Mewgenics, Hunter Class cats typically have low Hit Points, which makes them especially fragile in combat. As a result, Items that enhance stealth, improve evasion, or boost Constitution (or heal) are particularly valuable for keeping them alive during battles.

Hunters excel in certain fights, especially boss fights where bosses have high movement speed, high melee damage, or a long attack range. In all such scenarios, Hunter Class works well because of their high Dexterity. I absolutely love playing Hunters and Mages due to their versatile movesets. However, Items play a key role in adding to their unique moves and enhancing their playstyle.

This guide focuses on Items that go best with Hunter Class and their uses. As a bonus, we will walk you through an effective early-game loadout for Hunter Class in Mewgenics.

Mewgenics – Which Items Should You Choose For Hunter Class?

Hunters have high Dexterity to start with since the Hunter badge adds +3 Dexterity to your base stat. If you’re going with a general early-game Hunter build in Mewgenics, your stats will look similar to the ones shown in the image above. While your Dexterity is high, you might have low Constitution or Speed, which can really limit your Hunter Class cat’s potential.

Progressing beyond The Alley and The Sewer in Mewgenics taught me just how important the right Items are. With the correct setup, your Hunter cat can easily become the strongest in the party. However, without proper Item choices for each Class, most runs end quickly.

Here’s a list of 20 Items that go best with Hunter Class in Mewgenics:

    ItemsUse
    Moustache+1 Charisma
    Small Rune10% Dodge chance
    Feathered CapGain +4 Speed
Survivalist’s Gaiter40% dodge chance while standing in tall grass + Start battle with 1 Stealth and lose this when you use a basic attack
    Human Eye+2 Charisma
Prowlers’ Cap25% crit chance with backstabs
Black MushroomA ranged attack that inflicts 2 weakness
Water BottleHeal 5HP and gain heatwave immunity. Refills when affected by water element effects.
BullseyeAll damage you deal this turn is critical and cannot miss
    Small Catnip BaggyGain 7 Mana
Disco BiscuitGain +5 Charisma until the end of battle and gain 6 mana.
UpperGain 5+ Speed for the rest of the battle
    Feathered Mask10% dodge chance
    Glasses +2 Intelligence, -1 Health
    BombThrow a bomb that explodes
    ZukinStart battle with +2 backflip
Les ToxinA ranged attack that Inflicts 2 poison (once per battle)
Purple MushroomRanged attack that inflicts confusion 2 (once per battle)
SpeedballGain +5 Dexterity for the rest of the battle
Third Eye+1 Ranged, all ranged attacks cannot miss

Effective Early-Game Item Loadout For Hunter Class

    • Weapon – Purple Mushroom/Les Toxin/Bomb
    • Head – Third Eye/Zukin/Prowler’s Cap
    • Neck – Survivalist’s Gaiter/Used Shirt/Obi
    • Face – Feathered Mask/Glasses/Moustache
    • Trinket/Consumable – Water Bottle/Ankh/Speedball

During my playthrough of 15 hours, as of the time of writing, the most helpful Items for my Hunter Class have been Zukin and Obi/Survivalist’s Gaiter. With Zukin’s backflip dodges, Obi’s two bonus moves, or Survivalist’s Gaiter’s passive stealth ability, you can mask the presence of your Hunter or evade damage. Pair it with Items like Bomb/ Les Toxin to deal some additional damage when out of basic attack or Mana for Abilities.

You can equip Items like Speedball, Moustache, or Glasses, which add bonus Charisma or Intelligence to your base stat when equipped to its respective slots. Lastly, take some healables for your last slot, Trinket/Consumable, if you are concerned about your low HP. If Health is not a priority, you can equip Ankh (while downed, you have a 50% chance to revive with 33% HP at the end of each round) or an Item with similar benefits.
