While playing Marvel Rivals with your friends, having the right team composition can make or break your gameplay. Forming the right team and figuring out what works best for everyone can be a bit confusing, especially when playing your favorite character. But most characters will always synergize well with others, you just have to find the right combination and make it work for the most part. This guide shows you all the top team compositions in Marvel Rivals.
7 Best Team Compositions In Marvel Rivals
First off, when it comes to team comps, you can try a variety of mixes between the Vanguards, Duelists, and Strategists. You can go for the standard 2-2-2 team comp, with two of each hero type. Or you can go for various other combinations. For us, we found that 2 of each hero works significantly better as it is more balanced, and that is exactly what we have gone ahead with in the below team comp recommendations for Marvel Rivals.
Team Comp #1
- Duelists: Hawkeye, Magik
- Vanguard: Hulk, Magneto
- Strategists: Adam Warlock, Mantis
Hulk and Magneto as the Vanguards are the most powerful combinations around. Hulk’s immense combat power can be heightened the longer you get to stay in your Hero Hulk form. In case Hulk is reverted to Bruce Banner, that’s where Magneto can step in with his shields to protect Bruce. Hawkeye is a great hero to use for ranged attacks and holding down sections of the map. Magik will make up for what Hawkeye lacks, which is close combat attacks. Adam Warlock and Mantis are a great combo for group healing, as long as they stay in the backdrop. This composition is best if you want to hold down the fort and focus more on defense.
Team Comp #2
- Duelists: Iron Man, Black Panther
- Vanguard: Groot, Venom
- Strategists: Cloak and Dagger, Mantis
This team comp is good for pushing your teammates, as most of the heroes here focus more on speed and attacks. Iron Man and Black Panther work well to push their way through the crowd, marking targets, and staying out of reach. Groot and Venom will help in dealing maximum damage while holding down the defense. The best part about Cloak and Dagger is that you can use them for both offense and support. Mantis is an additional healer but can offer damage boosts as well.
Team Comp #3
- Duelists: Hela, Black Widow
- Vanguard: Peni Parker, Thor
- Strategists: Luna Snow, Rocket Raccoon
This ragtag team is the best for keeping your distance but dealing a lot of damage from afar. Both Hela and Black Widow are great picks for ambush attacks, and you can use Thor’s high attack stats to deal landing blows to knock out your targets. Peni Parker can use traps to lure her targets to her, making it easier for your team to single out enemies. Luna Snow and Rocket Raccoon have several healing abilities, which work great with this team comp.
Team Comp #4
- Duelists: Wolverine, Squirrel Girl
- Vanguard: Doctor Strange, Venom
- Strategists: Jeff the Land Shark, Rocket Raccoon
Wolverine and Squirrel Girl complement each other with a combo of melee and ranged attacks. You can utilize Doctor Strange’s Pentagram of Farallah to get from one point to another, which is essential if your team feels trapped. Venom and Wolverine both have high agility, but at the cost of lower HP. That’s where you can use an extra hand from Jeff and Rocket for their healing ability and for Jeff’s unique bite attack. You can use this team comp if you like being the center of attention and wish to play all angles.
Team Comp #5
- Duelists: Scarlet Witch, The Punisher
- Vanguard: Captain America, Groot
- Strategists: Jeff the Land Shark, Mantis
If you are looking for some easier heroes to master, then this team comp is very basic and beginner-friendly. Most of the team members will complement each other’s attacks, so you don’t have to worry about learning the ropes of how each hero works. Scarlet Witch and the Punisher are great for pushing or holding down the line, and Captain America can create the right path for their teammates while also claiming defense. Groot complements Captain America’s playstyle well, so they can go hand in hand. You can use Jeff and Mantis to make the match more enjoyable and help out your team with support.
Team Comp #6
- Duelists: Wolverine, Winter Soldier
- Vanguard: Hulk, Venom
- Strategists: Adam Warlock, Cloak and Dagger
This is a purely attack team comp, and you can use the above if you are comfortable with the offensive team build. You won’t have to worry about running out of health, as Adam alongside Cloak and Dagger can deal with that. Plus, most of the heroes here deal extremely high damage and are great at holding their own ground, making this an ideal team comp for players who want to dominate the map.
Team Comp #7
- Duelists: Psylocke, Spider-Man
- Vanguard: Hulk, Thor
- Strategists: Loki, Adam Warlock
This team comp is highly challenging to master, but veteran Marvel Rivals players would benefit from the high power they hold. Especially when it comes to the duelists, they can single-handedly carry the game, with a little help from Loki and Adam. Hulk and Thor can lend a hand when things get tough, making this team an unstoppable force.
