In Marvel Rivals, Captain America is one of the few Vanguards the game provides. The skillset for this particular hero is great for utilizing in close to mid-combat, so you will have a better time with Captain America if melee fights are your thing. Using Captain America in Marvel Rivals is not as complex as it seems, as his moves are quite simple to master and a great addition especially for new players. In this guide, we show you all abilities, skills, and how to play as Captain America in Marvel Rivals.

How To Play As Captain America In Marvel Rivals

Right off the bat, Captain America is a great Tank hero, and is perfect for team defense and pushing back enemies. The heightened movement speed from Freedom Charge, Leading Dash, and Charged Aegis is a great way to use the Captain to take the lead and push forward, creating a clear path for your allies. He also has a few AoE attacks up his sleeve, like Fearless Leap and the shield’s thunder power when embedded with Thor’s lightning.

Playing as Captain America is pretty straightforward, and he is quite easy to manage. Get in the front lines and deal as much damage with your shield as you can. Also, use your shield to protect yourself and use the downtime to heal or offer support to your team. The only drawback to using Captain is that his attacks don’t land as hard as other melee-focused characters, he fares better if paired up. Pair yourself up with any Duelist or Strategist characters to help them land some hits. If you are looking for a powerful Tank combo, Captain America with Groot will do quite well.

The point of using Captain America is not to climb up the leaderboards, but to create that space required for your team so they can push forward and get the upper hand. While he may not be the best as a DPS character, his high health and movement speed are great for support, defense, and being a team player.
