Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 Shock N’ Awesome introduces a Bug invasion on the map, bringing Hives to different locations along with a Bug Queen that burrows underneath the map, hiding until you destroy the Hive Stashes around the map. Conveniently, there’s a Kickstarter Quest as well that involves destroying these Stashes, which will reward you with 15K XP. However, killing them might become tough if other players come into the picture. This guide will help you easily destroy the Hive Stashes.
Destroying Hive Stashes In Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4
To destroy the Hive Stashes, you need to either shoot at them or interact with them to break them open. When you reach their location, a yellow health bar with the title “Neutralize the threat” will appear at the top of your screen, which indicates how many Hive Stashes you need to destroy to taunt the Queen and drive her out of her burrow to start the boss fight.
However, these Hive Stashes are guarded by other Bugs, so make sure to stock up on your ammo, shield and health supplies before you try to destroy them. Eliminate the purple Bug spawners by it to destroy the Bug Stashes without Bug interference. These Hive Stashes will reward you with ground loot with Rare rarity weapons, ammo and healing items. Sometimes, they grant Rare Chests that are home to Epic or Legendary rarity weapons.
You can quickly identify the Hive Stashes as they’re a giant, unique yellow orb, although you need to find them around the location. It will take around four Hive Stashes to deplete the yellow health bar fully and trigger the Bug Queen boss fight. Destroying three Hive Stashes will complete the Kickstarter Quest “Destroy Hive Stashes to taunt a Queen”. Speaking of location, these Hive Stashes will spawn in three specific places on the map, indicated by a white Bug symbol.

Since the Bug Queen can spawn at three different places, this means that the Hive Stashes will spawn at those three different places as well. Here are the locations you need to head to on the map, depending on where the white Bug marker gets placed at the beginning of it.
- The Hive
- Demon’s Debris
- Ranger’s Ruin
Destroying the Hive Stashes around these three locations will activate the Bug Queen boss fight, which is another Kickstarter Quest that you need to complete. Whether you fight the boss or not is up to you, but keep in mind the risks involved with eliminating these Hive Stashes. However, slaying the Queen does grant you some good rewards, with a unique Medallion and a guaranteed Mythic Weapon.
