Some quests in Ghost of Yotei offer a dialogue choice to make. Sometimes, you might find yourself wondering whether the other dialog choice is the better option. While you don’t encounter choices during all quests, some of them, like the Building Bridges side quest, do offer two unique dialog choices. This guide will explain which choice to pick for the Building Bridges side quest in Ghost of Yotei.
Building Bridges Quest – Job To Do, or This Won’t End Well?

There are no consequences to the choice you pick during the Building Bridges side quest. Regardless of what you pick, for completing the quest, you will receive 450 Coins. This is one of the earliest quest choices you get in the game. If you don’t know where or how to unlock the quest, right after completing the Prologue, travel east of the Old Stables, or north of Windy Meadow in Yotei Grasslands. You will find a wooden bridge under construction at Matsumae Crossing .
Speak to the Matsumae Commander near the bridge to hear their problem. They need your help trying to get the culprits responsible for breaking down the bridge, which halts their construction. Accept the quest and follow the instructions on screen to find a camping spot nearby. Wait for nightfall, after which a group of ronin will show up to burn the bridge down. Defeat them quickly, after which you get to speak to Sanjuro the merchant and choose any of the following dialog options:
- I still have a job to do.
- I understand, but this won’t end well.
Pick any option above to go through with the rest of the quest. The Matsumae Commander will be pleased that the bridge still stands, and you get to ask him some information about the Yotei Six. Once the quest ends, you will receive the coins upon completion.
