Best Ways to Get Umbral Crystal in New World: Aeternum
Some of the best activities that help farm Umbral Crystals quickly are Elite Chest Runs, Raids, Outpost Rush, and Capture the Flag. For the fastest approach, try your hand at completing Elite chest runs every day for a chance to farm at least 15x Umbral Crystals per looted chest. But, if you are looking for the best activity to do, then Capture the Flag is the way to go.
Capture the Flag
Doing a Capture the Flag activity is the fastest way to farm Umbral Crystals, as you just need to spend a few minutes to get XP and 150x Umbral Crystals. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose; you are guaranteed to get 150 crystals at the end of your run. Stacking up all your crystals by continuously playing Capture the Flag will give you a nice sum when tallied up.
Raids
Another great option is Raids. While exploring Raids, the Hive of Gorgons is the best raid to pick for Umbral Crystal farming. Completing the raid offers a lump sum of 750x crystals for your stash. The only downside to doing Raids is that they refresh weekly, making Umbral Crystal farming a bit slow.

How to Use Umbral Crystals
Umbral Crystals are used to increase the gear score for items that are at 700 gear score and above. There’s a weekly cap of 4000 Umbral Crystals that you can collect. If you check your inventory and hover above the Umbral Crystal icon, it shows you how much time you got left till the weekly cap reset. With the above methods, you are sure to hit your cap limit very early on, helping you increase the gear score of some of your best items quickly.
