Everything New in Nighthaven Update For New World: Aeternum

New World: Aeternum’s latest update, the Season 10: Nighthaven Update, brings a plethora of content to the game and makes major changes to the existing systems to create an even more rewarding and fulfilling experience for players. The update will be free for all New World: Aeternum owners and is set to drop later today. While you wait for the update, here’s everything that’s coming to New World: Aeternum in Season 10: Nighthaven.

    1. New Zone: Nighthaven

With the new Nighthaven Update for New World: Aeternum comes a new mysterious zone for players to explore: the Nighthaven. In the land of Nighthaven, the darkness rules over the light. It’s a world of eerie forests, powerful castles, and terrifying monster tales. To face the dangers that threaten not just its inhabitants but the entire Aeternum, you will have to unearth the mysteries concealed in the shadows of its ruins and dungeons.

The Nighthaven is filled with catacombs and castles that are complex but rewarding. Quest markers won’t always help you tread the path ahead, which is expected to make exploration more fulfilling and satisfying. The more you explore, the more powerful you become and the greater your yields.

    2. New Story: The Tear of Gaea

A brand new story, known as the Tear of Gaea, begins with New World: Aeternum’s Season 10 Update. The story picks up after the events of the Elysian Wilds to recover the Tear that was originally in the position of Morgaine, but the journey turned out to be ill-fated.

The new zone, the Nighthaven, plays a major part in this story, with it being the major location you’ll explore to uncover the secrets of the area as you search for the missing artifact. There is no room for mistakes, since resources will be scarce and you need to manage them effectively if you want to know the truth behind the Nighthaven and live to tell the tale.

    3. New Game Mode: Catacombs

The Season 10 Update for New World: Aeternum also introduces a new game mode, called Catacombs, which is in tune with the theme of Nighthaven. Three players can join this mode and explore procedurally generated dungeons with hordes of enemies and bosses of different varieties, which get harder and harder with each boss kill. However, the more difficult the dungeons become, the greater the rewards are.

There’s a set timer within which you need to either complete the Catacombs and make it to safety with your friends, or else the treasures you collect will be lost. Successfully escaping the Catacombs will reward you with two new currencies, Sterlings and Crowns, which can be traded in for Catacombs-specific rewards. You can access the Catacombs from the Activity Finder.

    4. New Raid: Isle of Night

A new 10-person endgame raid, Isle of Night, arrives with New World: Aeternum’s latest Nighthaven Update, featuring three new bosses, new enemy types, new puzzles, new set piece encounters, and more. The entire raid takes place in a magical kingdom and is confirmed to be one of the hardest content that’s arriving with the Season 10 Update. So, gear up and improve your teamwork before you dive into this endgame raid and obtain every reward.

    5. Overhauled Endgame Progression

New World: Aeternum’s Season 10 Update brings much more than just new zones and game modes; it overhauls the existing endgame progressions to make them more rewarding and enables players to customize their playstyles with unique and powerful combinations of equipment that have never been seen before. Here’s everything that’s being overhauled in relation to endgame progression:

    1. Level Cap and Gear Cap Increase: The Level Cap has been increased to 70, while the Gear Cap has been increased from 725 to 800. PvP modes that scaled gear to 700 will now scale to 775 instead.
    2. Perk Charms: Perk Charms is a new gear modding system, where players can install new modifiers known as “Perk Charms” in four empty slots, instead of one customizable gem socket. There are 4 types of Charm Sockets and Charms:  Gem, Defensive, Offensive, and Skill. These Charms can be crafted with unique materials that drop from endgame content.
    3. Set Bonuses: For the first time in New World: Aeternum, set bonuses are being introduced. These sets of gear can be earned from tough endgame content like Isle of Night, Catacombs and more. Set bonuses come in two types: some bonuses activate at two equipped pieces and then get better at four equipped pieces, and some only activate at three pieces and then get better at five pieces, which creates a total of seven combinations of set bonuses.
    4. Umbrals: The Umbrals system has been revamped, which means all gear of the new pattern stays viable and upgradable with Umbrals. Any gear with a GS of at least 700 can be upgraded with umbrals. The Umbrals have also been turned into a currency, with a wallet cap of 4,000 and a weekly rate limit to earn.
    5. Attributes Overhaul: Perks do not increase attributes anymore with New World: Aeternum’s new Season 10 Update, and attribute perks on existing gear have been replaced with lower-level perks. On the other hand, attribute points have been added to the native attribute point pool granted by normal leveling.

On top of these new endgame progression overhauls in New World: Aeternum, a brand new 20v20 OPR map, The Tower of Calomel, is being added, featuring three-point capture zones that take place across three vertical layers of the tower with a plethora of strategic pathways that lead to game-changing resources. Customizable HUD has also been added for both PC and console players to personalize their on-screen display.

To top everything off, a new CTF Neutral Flag Event is set to run from October 24 to October 27, which changes the existing game mode rules for Capture the Flag as a test run for future events, so players can participate and convey their feedback on the changes. Lastly, healer role balancing has been added to PvP mode matchmaking for Arenas, CTF, and OPR.

This brings us to the end of everything new that’s coming to New World: Aeternum’s Season 10: Nighthaven Update. For more information, check out the press release on the game’s official website, which explains every major and minor change coming with the update.
