The Nightveil Hallow event in New World: Aeternum takes place annually during Halloween. Each time you have new objectives to clear, and this time too, you have to defeat a particular boss. However, you need to obtain the quest from an NPC before reaching this point. This guide will explain how to complete the Nightveil Hallow event in New World: Aeternum.
How to Start the Nightveil Hallow Event in New World: Aeternum

Head over to any major settlement and look around for a giant Nightveil Cauldron, then talk to Salvatore in front of the cauldron to start the event. The location of the cauldron is also marked on the map, so you won’t have a hard time trying to find it. Most of the event’s objectives center around finding and defeating Baalphazu. There are four locations where the Baalphazu boss spawns: Brightwood, Weaver’s Fen, Mourningdale, Great Cleave, Edengrove, or Ebonscale Reach.
Every time you defeat Baalphazu, you get the Baalphazu Ichor drop. Take it to Salvatore to exchange for unique event caches and items. Some rewards are Nightveil Armor Pattern, Nightveil Weapon Pattern, Nightveil Tokens, and more. These rewards are limited each day. Return the next day after collecting all daily rewards.
Baalphazu Boss Fight Guide

Baalphazu is a level 70 boss, and the boss’s spawn points are marked on the map. Since this is a collaborative effort, you get to team up with several other players to take him down. If the boss icon on the map starts to glow, then the battle has already begun. Join in anytime to continue the fight.
Besides fighting Baalphazu, you also need to fight off the mobs of Pumpkinites that spawn randomly. Defeating these pumpkin enemies will drop pumpkin heads. Toss these at the boss to break his defense. Focus on lowering the stamina bar, which causes Baalphazu to get stunned when the stamina bar is depleted. Spam your best attacks during this time to reduce his HP.
Pumpkinites aren’t the only enemies you will encounter on the field. You will also run into smaller mobs, but they won’t cause any hindrance. Defeat them to collect healing orbs or items that remove debuffs whenever you require. The Calabasher increases 10% of max HP per 2 seconds, while the Gourdspewer just supplies a 5% heal per 2 seconds.
Baalphazu has three main moves detailed below.
- Energy Wave: The boss releases waves of green energy that create damage and knockback. The wave pattern is telegraphed, giving you time to dodge or block.
- Vine Arms: This is Baalphazu’s melee attack, where he will swipe at you with his vines if you get too close. These attacks are blockable, or you could move out of the way.
- Energy Inhale: Similar to the Energy Wave, Baalphazu will light up an area, after which anyone caught inside the AoE will be pulled towards the boss. Running away would be best here, or you could stay back and fight if you are confident in your abilities.
Nightveil Hallow Event Rewards

You get 5 pieces of random armor or weapons per day from defeating Baalphazu. Besides that, Baalphazu will drop Ichor, take them to the Nightveil Cauldron, and drop them in for Nightveil Cache. Unlocking the caches will give you random amounts of Nightveil tokens, weapon patterns, gypsums, and Cauldron Tokens.
Also, after defeating the boss or interacting with the cauldron, you have a chance to receive random costumes. These costumes will give your character an entirely different look, which is modeled after other famous NPCs in the game.
Use these costumes to go trick-or-treating around the various settlements, which help you locate hidden treat baskets for extra rewards. Some of the rewards included within these treat baskets are Baalpahzu’s armor pieces, Nightveil tokens, and candy. Candy is a consumable item that gives you unique and fun transformations or buffs. Once the event ends, any candy collected will be gone.
Where to Use Nightveil Tokens

Since you will get a huge sum of tokens during the event, return to Salvatore near any of the Nightveil Cauldrons to cash them in. You get to purchase items from the event store like unique masks, weapon and armor patterns, treat baskets, and several other cosmetics, furniture, and emotes. Some items in the store would be familiar, as they have appeared during previous events too. If you had missed out on collecting some of the event items last time, now is your chance.
