Sulfur is one of the key ingredients required in Everwind to grab the speed upgrade for the ship. You won’t need tons of sulfur, just a handful to get the upgrade. While sulfur might feel like a common ingredient, it is one of the rare items in the game. And the best way to obtain Sulfur is by mining it from sulfur veins inside caves.
Sulfur veins are tucked away under the world’s surface, making it a difficult item to hunt early on. But since Everwind runs on the RNG economy, there are times I got lucky and found a dozen sulfur veins ready to be mined. And sometimes, I left the island with nothing but rocks and a few coppers in my pocket. Here we will talk about how you can get sulfur in Everwind.
How to Get Sulfur in Everwind?

Requirement: Balloon Upgrade for Ship
First, I recommend that you get the ship’sBalloon upgrade, which will allow the ship to cross an altitude of 500. This will make the large floating islands reachable from our ship. Any island above 500 meters in altitude has dense areas with dungeons and rich wildlife, making them a perfect place to hunt for many goods, including sulfur and copper.
Note: When you are exploring a floating island with a dungeon, above 500 altitude, you will frequently get attacked by monsters. So always carry a good weapon and a handful of food before dropping onto these islands.
- Once you are ready, get off the ship and explore the floating island. Here, you must keep an eye out for giant holes or caves in the ground with stone veins or cubes at the entrance.
Note: I always use stone cubes at the entrance of the hole as a sign to find elemental cubes inside the hole, such as copper or sulfur.
- Jump down the hole, now look for veins or cubes with greenish-yellow stones sticking out of their surface. You need to venture deep into the cave or hole to see any sign of sulfur veins.
- Once you spot a vein or cube with greenish-yellow stone, equip the pickaxe, and start whaling on the cube until you get Sulfur.
Note: Don’t leave mining for later; always get all the items before leaving the area. In this case, grab all the sulfur within the cave or hole before departing.
Once you get a handful of sulfur (x5 for Tier 3 speed upgrade/ x15 for Tier 4) in your possession and Force Crystal Dust(x5 dust for Tier 3 and x15 for Tier 4) and x600 gold (x200 for Tier 3 and x400 for Tier 4), interact with the ship’s core and click on speed Upgrade.
