Is There Focused Hearing in Ghost of Yotei?
No, Ghost of Yotei does not have Focused Hearing. This feature was prominent in Ghost of Tsushima but is missing here. There’s no reason given for its removal, but it does give a different dimension to the core gameplay mechanics. It could be that this was done because the protagonist, Atsu, simply has a different set of skills than Jin Sakai, and the developers were trying to bring something new to the table.
Some players also felt Focused Hearing made stealth too easy, so it could be a welcome change to not have this feature in the game. Ghost of Yotei takes a different approach to enemy encounters, making exploration in Ezo more challenging. With the right skills, Atsu can still locate and take down enemies with ease. - Focus Attacks – Counters Disarm attacks while also staggering enemies, while unleashing a damaging strike.
- Heavy Attacks – Break down the target’s guard and improve damage output.
- Killer’s Instinct – Enemies slain might have a flashing aura around them, which indicates whether their death might alert nearby enemies.
- Katana/ Dual Katana/ Yari skills – Improves the damage of these weapons while also applying enhanced abilities.
While you don’t get the whole experience of using Focused Hearing, enhancing your skills is the only other way to eradicate potential targets without any extra help.
