After defeating some of the main bosses in Code Vein 2, players will have the opportunity to enter Fading Bonds and return to the past to help out various characters. However, these Fading Bonds are locked from the start, and players have to complete a certain task or acquire a specific item.

For example, after defeating One-Armed Hero Lyle, they will encounter Lyle’s Fading Bond. Unfortunately, it isn’t accessible right off the bat, and players need to find a way to activate it first. Since the game gives almost zero clues on how to do this, it’s likely that players will end up feeling lost and uncertain on how to proceed.

Luckily, we have all the answers for you in this guide. Read further to learn how to activate Lyle’s Fading Bond in Code Vein 2.

To activate Lyle’s Fading Bond, you’ll need to find a specific item – Lyle’s Rusted Sword. After defeating the One-Armed Hero Lyle boss in Code Vein 2, players will have the opportunity to return to the past through a Fading Bond and help Lyle on his quest.

Unlike Josee’s Fading Bond, where you have to progress the main story further in order to activate it, you can get Lyle’s Rusted Sword immediately after defeating One-Armed Hero Lyle.

Obtaining Lyle’s Rusted Sword in Code Vein 2 doesn’t take very long, as there are only a few steps you must take First, you want to travel to the past by using the Bond in MagMell on MagMell Island. The bond can be found at the top of the stairs in the central hub area.

Next, fast travel to the Mistle at Forward Base One: North and head to the open area with all the tents. Here you will find Lyle standing by himself.

Approach Lyle and interact with him to start a short dialogue sequence, where he will talk about leaving a grave nearby. It’s crucial that you exhaust all of his dialogue here or else the next step won’t work.

After finishing speaking with Lyle, fast travel back to MagMell and use the bond to return to the present.

Next, fast travel back to where you spoke to Lyle, at Forward Base One: North, where you will find a grave in the ground with a sword sticking out of it. Approach the grave and interact with it to pick up Lyle’s Rusty Sword.

With Lyle’s Rusted Sword in hand, you can officially activate Lyle’s Fading Bond in Code Vein 2. Doing so will bring you back to the past, allowing you to complete an additional quest and earn additional rewards.
