Black Myth Wukong has several upgrades to aim for, and each of these are meaningful ones that add a lot to your attack, defense, health, and so on. The combat being of the fun but tough variety, there will be times when it is best to aim for the next upgrade and get it through before taking on the next area or boss. While you will eventually figure out the best farming spots that work for you, in this guide we have put up the best material to equip for farming in Black Myth Wukong and maximize item drops and XP gain.
Goldflora Hairpin
The Goldflora Hairpin is a Curio item that can be purchased for 12800 Will from the Man-In-Stone after you unlock him as a vendor and slightly increases Will gained from defeating enemies.
Celestial Registry Tablet
The Celestial Registry Tablet is obtained in the secret area for Chapter 4: The Purple Mountain. Start from the Valley of Blooms Shrine, cross the bridge, turn right, hug the rock wall on the left till you come onto an open area with a lone structure standing at its edge. The Celestial Registry Tablet is located in a chest in this place; and is a Curio item that increases XP gained from defeating enemies.
Golden Carp
The Golden Carp is obtained as a drop from defeating the Yellow Loong boss, which comes at the end of a long quest involving a fight with 4 dragons across chapters in Black Myth Wukong. The first two are located in secret areas and are detailed here– The third can be reached from the Bitter Lake Turtle Island in Chapter 3; and the final one in the Cliff of Oblivion in the Webbed Hollow region in Chapter 4. You also get the Golden Lining spell for this; but for the purpose of farming, the item of importance is The Golden Carp; which is a Curio that moderately increases item drop rate on defeating enemies.
Lantern Holder
The Lantern Holder can be obtained from the Estate of the Zhu Shrine in the Village of Lanxi region. Start from the Shrine and head to the door on the left flanked by the 2 red lanterns. Defeat the enemy – you may need to farm him for the Lantern Holder Spirit as it is not a guaranteed drop, but is worth the effort as it is a Spirit which when equipped moderately increases the Will gained.
Skull Of Turtle Treasure
This is a headgear and is a random drop from killing an enemy in the Valley of Ecstasy in Chapter 3. Start from the Longevity Road Shrine, take a left and you will see stairs in the distance. Take the path ahead till you come to an area with a single enemy in between two gates. Farm the enemy to have the Skull of Turtle Treasure drop. This item also increases the material and resource drop rate on defeating enemies.
If you purchased the Deluxe Edition of the game, you would have obtained the Folk Opera Set (you can get it when you rest at the first Keeper’s Shrine); which is easily the best gear set to equip for farming in Black Myth Wukong. On wearing all 4 pieces of the armor, you get a moderate increase in Will on defeating the enemy.
