It’s crucial to find more food in Beast of Reincarnation to keep both Emma and Koo’s hunger meter filled. If they aren’t fed, every activity, whether it’s moving, dashing, or engaging in combat, will eventually drain the meter. If this happens, neither of them will be able to heal, which can prove to be quite a nightmare.
There are lots of different food items you can find and consume, but there are several other ways to stock up on them to use them later. So, to help you out, here are some of the easiest methods to find more food in Beast of Reincarnation.
Understanding hunger in Beast of Reincarnation

Before I begin explaining to you how to find more food easily in Beast of Reincarnation, it’s crucial to have a basic understanding of how exactly the hunger mechanic works and the role food plays in it. As you’d expect, performing activities such as fighting bosses, sprinting, and exploring the world will tire out both Koo and Emma, which will cause their hunger meter to gradually deplete.
Once their hunger meter runs low, they won’t be able to recover any HP. However, by feeding them food regularly, you can keep their hunger meter topped up. This will let them regenerate HP and stay ready for whatever challenge dares to stand in your way.
You can press down on the D-Pad (or the equivalent on PC) to view your Pack menu, where you’ll be able to check the hunger meters for both Emma and Koo, as well as consume food. As both characters share the same health pool, feeding them will restore the hunger meter for both at the same time. You can also check the hunger meter while resting at a campsite.
Also, don’t stress out if you have an empty health meter, as it won’t cause Emma or Koo to die instantly. They won’t be able to recover HP until they’ve eaten something. The game will also notify you whenever either of them starts starving.
How to find more food in Beast of Reincarnation

The most basic method to find more food in Beast of Reincarnation is to go out in the post-apocalyptic world and explore for yourself. From my experience, you’ll regularly come across items such as Field Rations, rice, meat, and other things while traveling. You can also rely on your companion to make things much easier. Once you’ve unlocked the right skills for Koo, he can help you locate food items and other valuable loot across the map.
Another way to obtain food is by growing it yourself. That’s right, your Cleanse Walker comes with a Grow Chamber, where you can cultivate crops as long as you have the necessary seeds. There’s also an Incubator that lets you produce eggs for various recipes. So, make sure to keep upgrading your Cleanse Walker, as you will be able to get more food and gather ingredients quickly.
However, I have found Kagura to be the real game-changer when it comes to food. She’s basically your cook, and once she’s on Cleanse Walker, you will be able to obtain meals. These dishes can replenish your health and also provide you with some stat boosts, multipliers, and other bonuses that can’t be obtained anywhere else in the game.
The way this works is that you’ll first need to get your hands on recipes. You can either purchase them from merchants or find them in the wild. Once you’ve obtained one, go and have a chat with Kagura. You’ll see the prompt for the Cooking Research menu where you need to select the recipe you want. Now, go back to completing other objectives in the game, as this process is going to take a while to wrap up.
When you make a return to Cleanse Walker to rest, Kagura will now be able to cook any recipes she’s successfully managed to research. Keep in mind, she’ll only be able to cook them if she has the ingredients. I always recommend trying new recipes you come across. Not only do you have something new to hunt for, but trying new meals will also get you additional stat bonuses the first time you consume them. Don’t forget to build rapport with Kagura, as it will also enhance the quality of the meal she’s preparing for you.
If you can’t access the Cleanse Walker for any reason, campsites can also be a good backup option. Any ingredients that you’re carrying in your Pack will be instantly cooked. Sure, it’s not as effective as Kagura’s cooking, but it’s still a reliable way to keep your hunger meter topped up during long adventures.
