A Warrior’s Honor Quest is one of many complicated quests in the Gothic 1 Remake. This quest also allows players to spend some time with the Orcs and see things from their point of view, but there are several stages to it, and it can be quite long-winded compared to other quests.
Completing the A Warrior’s Honor grants us entrance to the temple and a healthy amount of experience points. Here in this guide, we will give you a full walkthrough of A Warrior’s Honor, including all the location details and character lore related to the quest.
Completing A Warrior’s Honor Quest in Gothic 1 Remake
There are multiple parts to the quest; here is a brief rundown on all the objectives in the A Warrior’s Honor Quest in Gothic 1 Remake.
- Talking to Ur-Nazkrog to learn the Riddle.
- Talk to Ur-Shak to break the riddle.
- Getting to the Tunnel to Ritual Place.
- Collecting Orc Spores
- Performing the Ritual
Nothing in this quest counts as missable; it is fairly linear and comes with an optional combat encounter.
Talking to Ur-Nazkrog to learn the Riddle

The quest unlocks on speaking to Ur-Nazkrog at the Orc Enclave, located south of the Old Camp. I have marked the spot on the map to help you find the location easily. Talk to her, and she will ask you what it is that you seek from Krushak? Answer her by saying, “Because I want to kill him.” The conversation will quickly change to the discussion of a temple door being closed forever.
After a while, she will talk about having a dream of a morra warrior walking through the camp, and shaping life from death. Believing it was us (The Hero) in her dream, the chosen one, she will ask us to perform a simple task of shaping life from death to gain entrance to the temple.
Talk to Ur-Shak to break the riddle

Head outside of the cave where we had our conversation with Ur-Nazkrog, and you will find Ur-Shak near the rocks. Talk to him about the cryptic conversation we had with Ur-Nazkrog, and then Ur-Shak will give us the solution for the cryptic words.
Ur-Shak will talk about performing in burial rites on Grazkrak (it’s the name of the warrior that we slew to prove our skill to Ulu-Mulu). Ur-Shak also goes on about the tribute tradition they had for the warrior orcs. According to their tradition, if an orc gets slain in an honorable duel, it is the job of the winner to bring zarr back into the defeated orc’s body. In short, we must carry out the traditional ritual on the Grazkrak corpse to complete the task.
Ur-Shak will lastly mention heading to the fighting grounds to read the lore on the pillars and then perform the ritual on Grazkrak’s body.
Getting to the Tunnel to Ritual Site

From Ur-Shak, turn right, keep moving forward, and pass the camp area, and you will come across a large doorway to the next area.

Head through the doorway. In the next area, you will see a good number of tents with Orc Peasants living around. Turn left, and you will spot an unusual doorway with a stone marking above. Here, get down the stairs, and it will take you directly to the Ritual Place.
Now, just move forward and go down a couple of stairs, and eventually you will find yourself in a room with an NPC, Umosh. The body of Grazkrak is behind him on an altar; the only way to enter the spot is by talking to Umosh. Start a conversation with Umosh, and he will talk about Grazrak (Grazkrak ) waiting for his last rest, now reply with, ‘I’m here to ‘Shape life from death“.’ In the end, Umosh will not believe what we have to say and ask us to leave the area.
Finding Orc Spores

Now we need to find another way to get Umosh to let us into the sacred place with the body of Grazkrak. First, we need to track down the ingredients we need for the ritual to convince Umosh to let us into the place.
- Head down the stairs left of the room, left of Umosh. In the next room, again, turn left and go down the stairs. Now you will arrive in a well-lit room with a path on the left. Take the path, and you will reach a large circular room.
- Before you start exploring, head down the stairs on the right, and you will arrive at the arena. Here, at the entrance, you will find the NPC, “Chokta“.
Note: You can fight Chokta by agreeing with him when he points out the orcish weapon on us. It is an optional combat encounter, unrelated to the quest. Based on your chosen difficulty, the Chokta can put up a tough fight.
- Talk to him and then loot all the dead orc bodies around the area. Every time you loot a dead body, you will find an item called “Orc Spores(Quest Item).”
Note: Orc Spores are the item we need to perform the ritual. You can head up to the large circular room where we met Chokta to learn about the ritual. Check out both sides of the room to learn about the ancient ritual on the walls. Basically, some additional lore details on the orc storylines.
Performing the Ritual

Now that we have the information and items required to perform the ritual, it’s time to head back to Umosh. When you now speak to him, you will get a new option in the dialogue tree. Here, select the option: “I’m here to turn Grazkrak’s dead flesh into new life, as it’s the custom.”
Umosh will finally let us enter, head to the area behind him, and you will find Grazkrak’s dead body on the altar. Interact with the body to perform the ritual. Once it’s over, get back to the witch, ‘Ur-Nazkrog,’ and let her know about the task by selecting the option, “I did as you asked. Ur-Nazkrog. I shaped life from death.”
Ur-Nazkrog will thank us and will finally let us into the temple. With that, the quest A Warrior’s Honor will be marked complete, and you will get 700 Experience/ Glossary updates. Completing A Warrior’s Honor quest will also update the objective on The Path Chosen quest in Gothic 1 Remake.
