Dying Light: The Beast has lots to explore – with treasure maps to find, easter eggs to come across, legendary weapons to unlock, and of course, hordes of zombies to cut through. But the quests are mostly straightforward; hence, while doing the Hunting Yaga quest, when presented with two options to select from, and that too with a timer, it does come as a surprise. You want to be sure to select the right option to get the reward.
Take the Bribe or Kill the Scientist – Which is the Better Option In Dying Light: The Beast?

It does not matter, in both cases, you will get Lizzy, the crossbow that Max promised you at the beginning of the quest. While both options end the quest a bit differently, this is more of a role-playing choice – do you take revenge for Max’s wife, or are you convinced by the scientist’s version of what happened, and let him go?
If you choose to let the scientist go and take the bribe, you get 500 Old World Money. When you return to Max, you find him dead with a note thanking you for having brought the scientist to justice. You can then take the crossbow, and the quest is marked complete.
If you choose to kill the scientist, you then engage in a firefight with the military that has come to pick him up, and after taking care of them, you get to exact revenge on the scientist. Funny thing – if you search him, you get next to nothing in terms of rewards – except, of course, the satisfaction of having done right by Max. When you return, the quest ends just exactly as it did above – with the note and the crossbow now all yours.
So yes, in one case, you get the simpler resolution without any fight and more money, in the other, you get what can probably be termed as the right ending, but without the rewards, and having to fight off a full military unit.
With the Crossbow now equipped, you can go exploring for the various easter eggs in Dying Light: The Beast, or resolve the Last Wish side quest and get rewarded, if you have not already completed it.
