Ghost of Tsushima Will Not Need A PSN Account On PC For Single-Player

The PC port for Ghost of Tsushima is planned for release on 16th May; and going by what has been happening with Helldivers – 2; it would be natural for gamers to wonder if there is something similar in store for this upcoming port as well. Just in case the entire episode on Helldivers-2 has gone unnoticed – Sony has made PSN account a compulsory requirement to log in and play the PC Helldivers-2 as well; and since a lot of players do not have this, the game and Sony have received a lot of backlash, negative reviews on Steam, and a sharp drop in active player count.

The good news is – as confirmed by Sucker Punch; the team behind Ghost of Tsushima, and spotted first by Wccftech; the single player campaign will not require a PSN account – as confirmed on their official X, formerly Twitter account. The multi-player ‘Legends’ mode of the game, however, will need a login into an active PSN account to be able to play.

Ghost of Tsushima, first released on PS4 and then on PS5, on July 2020 was almost universally praised for it’s stunning graphics, entertaining gameplay, intuitive and minimalistic interface and one of the best samurai open-world games around; and the long awaited PC port will give a huge chunk of players who missed out on the game a chance to experience this gem – the call to not make a PSN account compulsory is a wise one by Sony
