One of the quest chains in Dune Awakening that continues as you move across regions is the Trial of AQL. The fifth trial of AQL is a much more involved one that does add a good amount to the world-building and the lore, although it does not give you any new abilities like the fourth trial of AQL. We continue the guides coverage on the quest chain as well with all the details on the location and walkthrough for the fifth trial of AQL here.

The fifth Trial of AQL takes place at the northern end of the Hagga Rift region. The visual identifier for this when exploring the region is a large piece of rock with a big eye painted on it. Just behind this is the entrance to the Hidden Test cavern. The Hagga Rift is the third region that you unlock in the game after Hagga Basin South and the Eastern Vermillius Gap.

Jump down into the cavern, collecting some loot on the way. Progress ahead to the central altar, with a bowl of spice waiting to be inhaled. Go ahead and do that, and you will be transported into a hallucination. All this should be pretty familiar to you by now.

However, the next steps here are a bit different. Walk on the more brown colored sand, as you hear the voiceover. Avoid the brighter colored sand to the best extent possible, as that is quicksand where, if you spend too much time, it will take you back to the beginning of the hallucination area.

    Fifth Trial of AQL platforming

Do this till you come across a cutscene of a sandworm exploding out of the sand. Now, for the next section, you need to do a bit of parkour and platforming, and cross to the next area, without dropping down. If you do that, you do get a couple of seconds to quickly climb back up, else you get eaten by the sandworm and transported back to the beginning. The platforming is pretty simple, except for a couple of jumps that you need to execute at the right angle.

The next section has you luring the sandworm by placing a thumper on the spice harvester up ahead. Once you do that, you will get a cutscene with further steps being created on your right. Sprint up the steps and reach the top to see the sandworm destroying the harvester.

Continue up ahead after the cutscene, and you will be transported back to your world, with the Sixth Trial of AQL now unlocked.
