Primordial extraction shooter Escape From Tarkov left its comically long early access period a month ago.
To mark the first month anniversary of the game’s 1.0 release, BattleState Games released some interesting numbers.
We can learn two things from the published statistics: the game is still a commercial success even a decade after it first entered the scene, and escaping from Tarkov remains nearly impossible
Escaping From Tarkov is Almost Impossible, But People Tried

According to an Instagram post on the official Escape From Tarkov Instagram page, the game has sold over one million copies in the first month after leaving early access.
How many of these were on Steam versus the BattleState Games store is not specified. As of today, Escape From Tarkov has a mixed score on Steam, with just over 24,300 reviews, and a 24-hour peak of 32,003 players.
The amount of hours spent in-game is nothing to balk at, with a total of 135 million raid hours logged since November 15th.
With so many player hours, you’d think a decent chunk of people would manage to actually escape from Tarkov, but that is far from the case.

The developers have revealed that the number of escapees is just over 500 PMCs, a paltry sum considering the multi-million player base.
Looking at the Steam stats page for Escape From Tarkov, the four achievements linked to endings sit at the bottom of the chart with 0%.
Whether that’s just rounding down or no Steam player has managed to leave Norvinsk is not clear, but one thing is certain: one does not simply walk out of Tarkov.
Escape From Tarkov is available on PC, with a PvE DLC and an Arena standalone mode also available.
