In the current release version of Escape from Tarkov, some of the quests have various unlock requirements. Since some chapters are a bit harder to figure out, you might miss out on getting them. If you are having a hard time trying to unlock the story chapters, this guide has you covered.

Complete the entire Tour chapter and do all of Mechanic’s objectives. This also unlocks the Woods map. Next, the Mechanic will inform you about a fallen plane, which is one of the quest objectives to start the Falling Skies chapter. This makes it easier to find the plane on the Map.

Do note that Standard and Unheard editions will get another main objective, to gain level 2 loyalty with Prapor. Complete any quests with Prapor to get the loyalty point increase. Also, completing this chapter automatically unlocks the next chapter: Chapter: The Ticket.

    How to Unlock Chapter: Batya

For the Batya chapter, you are given the objective to investigate BEAR Outposts, but no further objectives after that. You can unlock the quest by:

    • Heading over to the Stronghold on the Customs map and then up to the Grenade Launcher on the second floor to find a chest.
    • Loading into the Shoreline map and investigating the tank behind the Sanatorium.
    • Visiting the sniper weapons spawn rock above the USEC camp in the Woods.

Whichever method you choose, head back to the Customs map to pick up the Bogatyr Patch. It is inside the power station to the south of the New Gas Station. Investigate the pillow on the couch inside the trailer to get the patch. Open up your Task inventory and select the patch to find all the quest objectives.

Load into the Streets map and head north towards the Cardinal Apartments to learn more about the TerraGroup’s activities. Head inside the apartment’s eastern wing and make your way through the rooms till you find an office. Investigate the desk to find a note, and this will trigger the quest to start.

How to Unlock Chapter: Blue Fire

While it does say to investigate a certain area in Streets or Ground Zero, you will have an easier time checking Woods. While in Woods, head over to Emercom Base BTR Stop. Over here, look around for a large green open container and head inside it. Investigate the large shelf to find a flyer stuck to the side wall, which will unlock the quest.

How to Unlock Chapter: They Are Already Here

The best way to start this quest is to find a note next to a cultist camp in Shoreline. Load into Shoreline and head over to the Scout Tower beside the Sunken Village and investigate the area around it. Underneath the grass, keep a lookout for a cultist circle. Investigate the circle to find a note near some candles. You will also get this note randomly by killing cultists.

How to Unlock Chapter: Accidental Witness

In the Customs map, head south towards the Dorms and investigate the area between the two dorms. You will come across a parking space. Check all the cars here to find a car that has been spray-painted with random letters. Check the car to trigger the start of the quest.

How to Unlock Chapter: The Labyrinth

You will require the Knossos LLC facility key first, which is obtained in Shoreline. Enter the Admin Resort building to find the key in 5 different locations, as marked on the map above. Investigate the desks and wall cabinets to get just one key from any of these locations.

Then, head over to the basement on the western wing of the Admin Resort to find a door that requires the key. Enter the underground tunnel inside the room to travel to the Labyrinth and trigger the quest.
