The Great Hero’s Trial is an early-game Wandering Tale you’ll find at the Bamboo Abode’s eastern shores in Where Winds Meet. This Tale requires you to complete three Trials presented to you by a child named Rongrong. In this extensive guide, we’ll provide you all the details to complete the Great Hero’s Three Trials easily in Where Winds Meet.
How to Complete the Great Hero’s Three Trials in Where Winds Meet

To complete the Great Hero’s Trials in Where Winds Meet, you must first meet Rongrong at the Northern Bamboo Grove’s eastern shores, as shown in the image above, then complete three Trials. After completing each Trial, you will obtain a Wooden Tag. Once you collect all three Tags and give them to Rongrong, you’ll master the Great Hero’s Three Trials. Here’s what you need to do to complete it:
- Fell the thickest tree in the area, located directly opposite to where Rongrong stands.
- Climb the ladderless tower, located at the bottom of the area.
- Hunt the highest bird, located at the top of Bamboo Abode.
It’s worth noting that you can complete all Trials in any order; you do not need to follow a sequence to complete them successfully. We’ll provide you the map locations, along with what you have to do to best the Trials in Where Winds Meet.
Trial #1: Fell the Thickest Tree

For the first Great Hero’s Trial in Where Winds Meet, you need to fell the thickest tree in the area. Head to the location as shown in the image above, which is situated opposite to where Rongrong is present. Near the water body, you’ll find a large, non-bamboo tree on the other side of the small pool.

Approach the tree, then hit it a few times, and it will fall to the ground. Upon falling, it will drop the ‘Hero’ Tag, the first of the three Tags you need to collect to complete the Great Hero’s Trials in Where Winds Meet. Then, either return the Tag to Rongrong or head to the next Trial.
Trial #2: Climb the Ladderless Tower

For the second Trial in Where Winds Meet, you need to climb a ladderless tower, located at the bottom of the area, near the eastern end, as shown in the image above. Once you’re near the edge of the water, you’ll find a large tower in the distance with no ladder to climb.

To climb up the ladderless tower, jump up on the caravan right beside the tower, then use your traversal skills such as dash jumps to jump between ledges, and use the platforms strategically to ascend it. It may take a few tries to do it successfully, but once you reach the top of the tower, you’ll obtain the second Wooden Tag, the ‘Proof’ Tag.
Trial #3: Hunt the Highest Bird

For the final Trial in Where Winds Meet, you must reach the highest altitude in Bamboo Abode, as shown in the image above, and shoot a bird out of the sky with your bow. Teleport to the Northern Bamboo Grove Landmark, then make your way to the top of Bamboo Abode, using your traversal and parkour skills.

Once you reach the top, analyze the sky for birds. Aim your bow at the bird, and shoot it out of the sky. You’ll be able to obtain the final Wooden Tag required to complete the Great Hero’s Trials, the ‘Of’ Tag when the bird falls to the ground.
Submit the Wooden Tags to Rongrong For Rewards

After you’ve completed all three Great Hero’s Trials in Where Winds Meet, return to Rongrong in the Northern Bamboo Grove and submit the Wooden Tags to her. In return, you’ll receive some XP, Echo Jade Currency, and Enlightenment Points. She’ll talk to you about the Great Hero’s Secret Tome and end this Wandering Tale.
That’s all you have to do to complete the Great Hero’s Three Trials in Where Winds Meet. For more comprehensive guides on this free-to-play RPG, check out the ones on the Yin Yang Dial Puzzle Solution and How To Unlock & Upgrade Celestial Seize.
