If you’re trying to catch a Beldum in Pokémon Legends Z-A, you’ll want to know exactly where to look. This little Steel/Psychic-type doesn’t show up just anywhere, it’s a late-game find that eventually evolves into Metagross, one of the strongest Pokémon you can add to your team.

The only place to find it is inside Lysandre Labs, hidden beneath the Lysandre Cafe in Magenta Plaza. Beldum is one of the rarer Pokémon in the game and only spawns in one spot. You won’t see it roaming around the wild zones or popping up in early areas.

How To Reach Lysandre Labs in Pokémon Legends Z-A

You’ll unlock Lysandre Labs as you move through the main story. It becomes available right before your promotion match with Grisham. Here’s what you need to do to reach it:

    • Keep following the story: The lab doesn’t open up until late in the game, so just focus on completing the main quests leading up to the Grisham fight.
    • Go to Magenta Plaza: This is where you’ll find the Lysandre Cafe. You can’t miss it, it’s one of the main spots in the city.
    • Head inside the cafe: Once you’re in, check the back rooms carefully. There’s a hidden door near the storage area behind a shelf that leads down to the lab.

    Finding Beldum’s Room

Now comes the tricky part: actually getting to Beldum’s room once you’re in the lab. From the entrance, go straight ahead and take the first door on your left. Keep moving forward and slightly to your right until you spot another door on your left.

Go through that room, make a U-turn to your right, and pass through the next doorway. From there, head straight, and the first room on your left in the purple area of the lab map is where Beldum appears.

This room is easy to recognize: it’s a room with beds lined up in a semi-circle at one end of the room opposite its entrance. That’s the only spot in the entire game where Beldum spawns, so if you see those beds, you’re in the right place.

It’s a consistent spawn every time, but you’ll still want to explore carefully since the lab can be a bit maze-like. There are other high-level Pokémon here too, so be ready for a few tough encounters before you find Beldum floating in the room.

What to Expect in Lysandre Labs

The lab is a late-game area, so expect strong enemies. The whole place has a metallic, futuristic look with tight corridors and glowing tech equipment. The room where Beldum spawns stands out; it’s dimly lit and circular, with beds and machines around the sides.

You’ll spot Beldum hovering near the middle of the room, its single red eye glowing faintly. Since this section of the game tests both your navigation and your understanding of the battle system, it’s a good idea to bring a well-balanced team that can handle a mix of Steel- and Psychic-type encounters.

    Tips for Catching Beldum

    • Bring high-level Poké Balls like Ultra Balls, because Beldum can be tricky to catch.
    • Have status-inducing moves ready, such as Sleep or Paralysis, to make capture easier.
    • Keep your team healthy, as some of the other Pokémon in the lab can attack.
    • Patience is key. Beldum won’t flee, but it can take some time to weaken it without knocking it out.

If you’ve been relying on early-game tactics or low-level Poké Balls, you’ll quickly notice that they don’t hold up here, this fight demands stronger gear and smarter strategy.

    Beldum Overview

Beldum is a Steel/Psychic-type Pokémon with a sleek, mechanical design. It floats using magnetic energy and becomes stronger with each evolution. It’s a great defensive pick for late-game battles and has solid resistances.

    • HP: 40
    • Attack: 55
    • Defense: 80
    • Special Attack: 35
    • Special Defense: 60
    • Speed: 30
    • Total: 300

    Weaknesses: Fire, Ground, Ghost, Dark
Resistances: Normal, Flying, Rock, Steel, Grass, Psychic (4×), Ice, Dragon, Fairy
    Immune: Poison

    Evolution Line:
Beldum evolves into Metang at Level 20, and then into Metagross at Level 45. When holding a Metagrossite, Metagross can further Mega Evolve into Mega Metagross.

Catching Beldum in Pokémon Legends Z-A takes a bit of patience, but it’s totally worth it. Once you track down the purple-section room in Lysandre Labs, you’ll have the chance to add one of the game’s strongest Pokémon to your roster.
